We have been to the Walnut Creek location many times and we were excited about the new Concord location. Very cool atmosphere but the first visit we got a short pours of wine. I ordered two Merlot's for my wife and myself. The bartender served us in white wine glasses and poured about 3 ounces.
When we were finished with our glasses i brought them back up to the bar and told a employee named nate about the short pours, he apologized and said thats not how it should be. He asked where we were sitting and he said he was gonna see what he could do. We went back and sat down. he later brought us a new glass of wine and apologized again. After that, the owner later came up to us and genuinely apologized for the short pours, he stated their standard was 6oz so what we were served was incorrect. He seem to genuinely care about his business and their reputation and said they have been trying to do their best adjusting to the new opening. Based on the interaction with the owner Jim and his great customer service i changed my review to a 4 star and we will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt pains me to give this place any less than 5 stars because itās the perfect little oasis in Concord and exactly where I want to be on a warm Friday night with my wife and kid. Great tap list, great wine, lots of outdoor seating, mini Bellagio-style water show out front. The only problem is it is very popular and theyāve done nothing to adapt to the demand for drinks outdoors, which is generally about 80% of their business. At peak times they have one bartender working the inside, and only one working the window. Easily 20+ mins for a drink outside while the other bartender looks for ways to keep busy inside. Neither one ever seems to be in much of a hurry. I hope management reads this and considers a second bartender for the window on weekends (Friday evenings especially) or a server for those sitting outside. Will increase to 5 stars when this happens!
Update 6/7/24: This is still a HUGE problem. 10 mins for a drink with only one customer in front of me. Beer was served in a small plastic cup with an inch of foam for $9. Reduced rating from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame by Residual Sugar while waiting for a dinner reservation. It was a HOT day in concord around 530 PM or so only a few people there. I was greeted by the bartender who I found out name was Alex. He recommended a really nice soft cheese that had honey served with it it was sooo good! I got the moscato to drink and the description of it says perfect for a hot day...and that was sooo true it was very sweet like a dessert wine and that's what I love! Was really good! I also tried the "ode to lulu" rose which was tasty but not as good as the moscato. A lot of people coming in knew Alex's name that's really nice he has such a rapport with the guests.
I left and actually ended up forgetting my phone and Alex came out into the HEAT (and it was really hot) and RAN to find me and return my phone to me. Losing my phone would have been absolutely terrible and he saved me a lot of trouble and problems THANK YOU ALEX!!
Residual Sugar 4 stars - Alex bumps it up to 5 for the great customer service and returning my...
