The experience I had here was terrible. I went to this location after a long 10 hour shift at work and just wanted to eat a waffle. I'm an easy customer. I typically order, eat, and leave. I'm a customer that will tip good even if my service was mediocre because I understand people have to make a living. I was ignored by the waitress. She said she'd be with me in a moment. There were only 6 or 7 people in the restaurant and all of them already had their food. I sat there for 10-15 min and waited and the waitress walked past me helping other customers. Even the other customers were starting to ask if I had been served yet which I wasn't. There was no reason why I shouldn't have been served. I ended up leaving with no service. I contacted their complaint line and complained. They got upper management involved. The district manager called me apologizing. He stated that he had talked to the employee. However he told me that he told her "I get it." He told his employee he understands why she didn't serve me and told me that he doesn't believe she intentionally ignored me. He had pulled the video and saw her purposefully ignore me. I told him that she was intentionally ignoring me and there was no reason why she shouldn't have served me. He said "Well we live in a world where we can't get into people's minds and know why they did or didn't do something." ........ What? First of all there's NEVER a good reason to ignore a customer. The district manager should NOT have told the employee he understands why she ignored me. Second, he took the side of the employee and brushed it off and did nothing to correct the action. Thirdly, he dismissed my concerns basically by saying "Oh there's no way to know WHY she didn't serve you". Management is obviously just as bad as it's employees. I wouldn't waste your time. I actually like Waffle House but won't...
Read moreFirst, I gave 3 stars because I have different experiences with the day shift and night shift. The day shift would get another star. The night shift would get one star. This review is based on my experience this evening with the night shift. I also contacted their corporate office.
I usually like this location for morning breakfast but this late night experience was totally unacceptable. We arrived at 11:54 pm and the floor had trash everywhere. There were 7 employees, two customers at the counter and two seated at a booth. Not very busy. My girl and I ordered breakfast. My steak came out first by itself. Then my girl's bacon a few minutes later. 5 minutes later we both got our country ham also by itself which was brittle, dry, and hard in most places. Then I got my eggs, grits and toast. My girl got her eggs 5 minutes after that. She had to ask for her toast which was apparently forgotten. Our server, who didn't have a name tag, grabbed the bill from our table to check that we actually had ordered the toast. After verifying and calling for more toast, she attempted to place the bill on the napkin holder but it fell into the trash can behind the counter.
This is where our experience took a drastic turn for the worse. We told her the bill was in the trash can so she reached into the trash and placed the bill back on the table right next to our plates. I'm sure THIS IS CROSS-CONTAMINATION AT ITS FINEST. Placing an item that came in contact with other people's old food is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I almost got up and left right there but I was surely done eating after that. I let my girl finish eating and she was even nice enough to leave a tip which I would not have. We left at 12:24 am. Store 1761 is the number I believe. 9800 Weddington Rd, Concord, NC 28027. I'm still debating reporting this to the...
Read moreWent to this location this morning (3/25/21), as I have thoroughly enjoyed my previous experiences here. However, today the line cook (white female, blonde hair, 20s possibly) could clearly be seen cooking food with her mask in the “chin strap” position. My party watched for several minutes, as she proceeded to both cook and hold a conversation with patron seated at the bar. Upon curbside delivery of our food, we informed an employee about the situation as we all were able to continue witnessing her actions. She, line cook, even repeatedly pulled the mask back to her chin when it moved upward during her conversation. The second employee apologized for her actions and spoke with her upon returning inside of the restaurant. Unfortunately, she didn’t even motion to correct her mask and continued both cooking and her side conversation. At this point, three other parties walked in to witness the same thing. All party members left within one minute of being inside the establishment. I’m not sure how many customers were lost today (or will be lost) due to this, but if you care about your restaurant, please take immediate action. To add insult to injury, there are corporate postings with several examples of how NOT to wear a mask, posted plainly for patrons (including the “chin strap” example), yet this was an employee committing these actions and damaging this store’s brand. I won’t be returning to this location because I cannot afford to take such health risks...
