Was there on Valentines Day 2024, just a reference point. I like Jersey Mikes. The food is good, but this time the bread seemed like it was a little old and extra dry, even after vinegar and oil being applied. The store is mostly clean when you come in. What I had a problem with was an elderly gentleman was being helped before my daughter, wife and I and he was treated with zero respect. He questioned the price of two giant sandwiches coming in at a price of over 50 dollars, he did not have chips or drinks. I can only assume after adding up, that he ordered double meat, double cheese and double bacon. Which if he did get all that on his sandwiches, he was robbed, they looked a little light. Anyway when he asked why it was so much, the girl behind the counter was trying her best to explain things. She kind of broke it down, but not enough that he understood. Then a bearded man that was making hot sandwiches came and intervened, and was like what is the problem I have things to do, so he briefly looked at the price on the register and said that it was correct and when the elderly man asked him to explain, he said that it is correct and that he didn't make the prices to take it up with someone else and walked away. The poor elderly man was so defeated that he just payed for his food even though he disagreed with it. I am sure that you have lost a customer over that exchange. I know that because I will not come back to a place that treats elderly people that way, and I would venture to say that he may not...

This is usually my go-to place for an Italian sub in Williamsburg. There are a lot of Italian places that make a decent sub in the area, but Jersey Mike's is fast and usually I'm pretty satisfied, so you'll probably have a good experience. I'm leaving 3 stars because of one experience, just a few days ago I was in a hurry so I placed an order via the mobile app, my usual, an Italian add bacon. I paid $2 extra for the bacon, and there was no problem placing the order or picking it up. However, when I got to my destination and opened the sandwich - to my horror, there was no bacon. The sandwich was still good, but I tried sending feedback through the app to see if I could get the $2 for bacon refunded, no response. I wish the app had some method of leaving feedback on the experience that benefited the customer instead of just gathering metrics for the business. Most of the time I would leave the team a kudos if I knew they would see it. Not this particular location's fault that the app doesn't provide this, and I'm not sure how they would handle it in store because I'm not going to go back some 5 days after the fact ranting about bacon, but it was a sad sad day to lift that top layer of bread and see what...
Read moreI literally do not know why there are negative reviews unless the people leaving them are ridiculously fussy. I love the subs from here. In fact, I'm devouring one as I write this (see image below). They put at least six slices of meat on the turkey sub, compared to three at Jimmy Johns, the veggies are ALWAYS FRESH, always. I have never gotten brown lettuce or punky tomatoes. They do wipe off the counter before preparing the next sub. Sometimes I'll get a swipe of vinegar from the board or a random pepper mixed with the pickles but it's not a huge deal, I just eat it anyways. The staff are always friendly, they say hello when you enter, they are courteous and really fast. But the speed in which they complete your order doesn't detract from what you receive. Their subs are $7.25. Yes a Jimmy John's 8-inch sub is $5.49, but the quality of a Jersey's Mike's sub is way better. I could walk right down the street from work or get delivery to my office from three other sandwich places, and I drive down Monticello to go here. To each his own, but I love this place...
