Wow where to begin .. on the way to a bourbon tasting in Bear Wallow, IN .. saw the lame sign on I-65 which needs paint so we were a little hesitant.. when we pulled in there were plenty of cars so that tells me the locals like it n theres probably something good here .. rustic interior with a 'log cabin'-esque look .. we were greeted by receptionists Lauren n Sydney .. engaged them in warm conversation and they were great .. there was a kid standing there too just doing nothing . Standing . holding a bussing bucket .. it was somewhat .. unnerving . I did ask and found out later his name was Cameron .. he seemed like a nice enough young man who might be LD but this is, after all, a place of business, and maybe he could do his Standing . in a lower-traffic area as he is literally Standing . Right . There . kind of in the way of everyone, and a weird vibe too, especially when I threw a tissue into the bucket and he almost turned away, wanting me to miss it .. I mean youre . Standing . there . whats the point .. anyway, so yes I haven't even gotten to the table (booth) yet .. we were seated and our very happy, lovely waitress Brooke came and we had the best time .. she was laughing and upbeat, but most importantly, eager to please and quick .. if she didnt know something she went to check and I hav to tell you the food, brought by wait-assist nicole, was delicious .. their chef definitely honored my request for veggies with no butter/no oil and he made sure they turned out Perfectly .. my steak was a large cut rib eye and cooked exactly like I asked (Pittsburg!) .. I did speak briefly with the mgr Aaron who was like a UPS guy moving non-stop .. please keep this mention in mind the next time he asks for a raise .. Montana Mike's Steakhouse has no buffalo steaks .. you can however get a Buffalo Burger but I wanted steak .. all-in-all this place for its mixed drinks, (beer could be a few degrees colder !), thick Steaks (if you get the big one), great pricing, and a staff who actually Listens .. this one was hands down 5...
Read moreI have eaten here a lot because I grew up around here although I don't anymore. I came to visit family. As always the food was great, I rate the atmosphere low because I just don't like the aesthetic of the place but all the restaurants nearby are gross so I tolerate it. I'd give 5 stars for the service because the waitresses are amazing but the new manager of the place (I'm guessing it's the manager, I knew the former manager) kept coming by and bothering us and talking to my kids like a creep. Seems a little suspect and just kept coming by and saying the same thing and bothering us. If I'm dropping well over $100 on a sit down experience with my family I don't want some weirdo stopping by every 10 minutes being awkward and weird with my kids. I'm not saying he is any way but in today's climate it wouldn't surprise me. Word of advice, if you are a weird creepy man, don't talk to the kids at the table, especially young girls, talk to the adults and stop lingering around and 8 and 16 year old. It came off very creepy and I'm likely not to come back it creeped me out so much. It ruined the experience. Stay in the back and don't bother people. No one wants that. (My oldest daughter went with a friend several weeks before and said the same guy kept asking if her soup was creamy and if they liked it creamy. I kinda thought she was making it up but then when we went in she confirmed the guy I'm talking about was the same guy that creeped her and her friend out.) Corporate may need to...
Read moreWe went tonight for my son's 16 birthday. They were a little crowded for 3pm but no big deal 15 min wait. We were a party of 8 that's including a baby. Our server was nice but very overwhelmed because it was so busy. Other people that were seated before we got there were waiting for their food for over an hour they said. When we finally got our food after 45 min 80% of it was wrong or disgusting. Stuff had been sitting under the heat lamp, then some of it was cold, then half of it was the wrong order. We politely called our waitress over, told her it wasn't her fault but we wanted to bring it to her attention. She then storms off and got the manager..so again we politely told him the issues and he asked if we wanted him to remake it. We declined because we had already been there 2 1/2 hours and we had a baby and my special needs son, and they were very ready to go. He said ok then and walked off..well we were sure he would at least deduct some off of our 154.00 meal. Nope, not a dime and we were very prepared to leave a great tip, but looked at the check and realized the gratuity was already taken out of almost $50... we were so very disappointed in the experience this evening as I'm sure a lot of other people were. We heard 2 tables complaining while we were there, and one while we...
