Well. It's been a couple years since I reviewed Shan Kishi. I really feel like they earned another mention. We eat here at least once a month and have never had a bad experience. The staff is so friendly and always speak to us a few minutes. Their all you can eat special is now an afternoon thing but we usually come after church so that's what we experience. Today we came for dinner and ordered off their regular menu. We tried two of their daily special rolls along with our favorite the black angel. They were all outstanding and had complex flavors. The presentation for our initial order was charming and we noticed everyone was getting the special treatment. This is our favorite Destin sushi restaurant and is getting better.

We enjoy sushi and have tried it at a number of places in Destin. This year we gave Shan Kishi a try. It is a small strip center place that has the typical Asian feel. They did a good job of mixing booths and tables so it actually seats quite a few. There is even counter seating if you like watching the chefs. What surprised us was the all you can eat menu which includes made to order sushi as well as Japanese staples like noodle dishes and teriyaki. You can order off the regular menu per item or pay $27 and get anything you want off the all you can eat menu. If you are a two roll person it is probably a wash which way to order...but if you like nigiri, this is the best deal in town. They warn you that you must eat all you order at the restaraunt. I am sure they have been burned by people ordering a variety and leaving a lot of it. We just order in stages so we know how much we want to eat. The best roll is the black angel so my wife and I each get one of those and the rest is an assortment of nigiri. Their spring rolls were good as well. The cooked entrees I see look good but we come for the sushi. I see families with kids so they obviously have a range of options. I am just reviewing the sushi. As all you can eat places go, this is a good one and the fish quality is good. We have eaten there 5 times and it has been consistent. In Destin there are a couple places with more artful presentation but Shan Kishi is our go to because nigiri is affordable here and not so much at...

This is the worst service I've ever had! I don't even want to give them one star. The food was OK, but there's nothing special about it. The poor service experience started when we sat down. The waitress ordered as if we begged her to serve us. My friend wanted to order udon noodles soup at that time (she just wanted to eat steamed Udon noodles, but we didn't see it on the menu, and I didn't want to bother them to make a special meal for her, because I don't want to inconvenience others.) But we were told to eat all the noodles and soup together! They don't even allow you to leave a small sip of soup! Sorry, my fault. They certainly allow you to leave soup, so then they can overcharge you for a udon soup. How smart! I know that we should not waste food. And this is exactly what I am doing. I do want to make a contribution to our life and the world. But not the way like this!I had to ask her if she could just give us steamed Udon noodle because we didn't want to waste the soup. The answer is "NO". Then I asked her if we could order stir fried udon noodle with out the sauce. And she said “Yes”. So what is the point? And my friend tried to order the Beef teriyaki without any rice, but he was rejected. And we understand that. But what I don't understand is the look on that waitress face when she sees my friend finishing his meal. Because there were some onions left on his plate. We feel that we were being insulted. He's already had to try to finish what he doesn't like (the rice). What else do you want him to do? Maybe we should use our mouth to help the dish washer to clean the dishes. At the end we were about to leave, we didn't intend to give her tip, but still gave her a 10%. Guess what she did? She came over and asked us to give her at least 18% tip!!!!! Oh my God! I have never seen such a “talented” person! You know what, We will never coming back to this place again! Good luck for those who wants to...

This is one of my favorite places I go and eat at. I've brought my friends, family, and always make time to go out here with my girlfriend. The ladies here always treat everyone so kindly and make time for you, and they never fail at getting your order out in a timely manner, and their service is always amazing. Chloe has been our go-to lady here forever. Even before I was a regular, she'd remember previous orders and start chatting it up with us. Now they all see us walk in and always get greeted and know what we are usually getting and we are always excited to see them too. I'm glad I come back here usually multiple times a week, I've never been treated so well by staff anywhere else. The food itself is amazing. I've never been disappointed with the food. The food always comes out and the display of it is always so beautiful I caught them close to close today so I didn't get anything too crazy but your food usually comes out served on cute little bridge, or displayed with pretty glowing lights, some flowers just I used to order the sweetheart roll for a year straight and my plate looked different every single time it was always a treat seeing what they'd put together each time. I love coming here, and I'll never stop. I definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone who wants good food here on vacation or if you're a local, you should become a regular here to and experience what why we come back so often. Best sushi place in town.
