A hidden gem, off the Emerald Coast Highway!
Last night, I just happen to pull into the parking lot of a strip of stores thinking there was access to the adjacent lot, when I discovered the Thai 9 Cuisine restaurant, which was sitting pretty alone next to the stores which had already closed.
I absolutely love Thai food so there was just no way, I was turning back onto the Emerald Coast highway.
Well, imagine my surprise when I walked into the place and saw a well put together restaurant; It was so obvious, this Thai restaurant, wanted to stand out from the rest.
And stand out they do!
The restaurant was pleasantly done, unlike most of the Thai places I’ve come to know.
One piece that caught my attention was the oversized big picnic-table-style, pub height, wood table and benches, which was perfectly situated at the center of the dinning area.
With a very extensive menu to delight any palate, I went with what I enjoy so very much... my all time favorite Chicken with Basil.
Not only was the dish full of flavor but the fusion of basil and coriander seared into the chicken was done to perfection... and, with all the juices flowing like a magical cocktail!
So after I was done with the chicken & basil, I was at a crossroad... hmmm... do I order a second one, or do I try a different one.
After all, is not everyday I get to enjoy a fresh cooked meal made from scratch... and the one thing, I’ve come to learn since July 15 —when I started this journey— is... if I can find good & fresh food, better enjoy every single little bite, because who knows if I’ll be able to find real fresh, real food and made from scratch, anytime soon!
And so I did.
Even though, I was craving for more chicken & basil, I opted for something I knew, even cold, would taste good. And so, I went with the Pad Thai, which was also prepared to perfection!
I’m very surprised, this little restaurant was not packed last night. The food is fabulous. And so far the best Thai food I’ve found in Florida.
I remember when I was in PCB -Panama City Beach- about a month ago. It was there where I found the first Thai restaurant in Florida and let me tell you, a comparison I can’t even make. It was a disaster!
That restaurant was having a very bad day even before I walked in —the chef never showed up.
Now, I’m no chef, but let me tell you, when your chef doesn’t show up, and no one else can take over the kitchen... I would say, it’s time to pack it in, close up and ship out!
There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind, if Thai 9 Cuisine was in a different location, there would be a wait line that would go around the corner.... or in this case, around a major highway!
Compliments to the chef and the staff of Thai 9 Cuisine; I had a highly enjoyable dinning experience... and it is my suggestion all of you reading this review,...

Comments on our dishes below
Red snapper $40 (shown in picture — was tough and very dry, and served without dipping sauce. Can’t believe we paid $40 for an inedible fish)
Pineapple fried rice with chicken $15 (very spicy but otherwise good. Could have used more vegetables, only had onion)
Pad Thai $15 (certainly edible but not phenomenal)
Pad see ew $15 (fine — our favorite of the 6 dishes we ordered but wouldn’t bring us back)
Crab Rangoon appetizer $9.36 (definitely did not taste the crab, the dumpling was overdone)
Coconut shrimp appetizer $9.36 (much smaller than you would expect, not light and crispy, very overpriced for the quality)
Overall the food was disappointing.
We also experienced a very long wait on the red snapper. Initially they cooked it fried, and I had requested it grilled. I have no problem with the confusion, but initially they told us they don’t serve it fried at all. After I reminded them I had spoken with the cook to request it grilled, they backtracked and dropped another filet. However it took 40 minutes to produce the fish, by which point we had long since finished our meal and paid, loaded the toddler in the car and I remained waiting in the restaurant 15 minutes.
A free dessert, an apology, or a small discount on the bill would have gone a long way towards giving us better feelings about this place. However no customer service was forthcoming.
We will not be back in, and would not recommend to others. Sad because the people were very kind, but the overall experience was...

Walked in sat down and no one came up to take any drinks or orders until we were already sitting there for 30 minutes, sweating to add on to that. It had to be at least 80 degrees in there. FINALLY. Our waitress comes out, gets all of our drinks and food orders, but it takes other 20 minutes just to get drinks. To add on to that we over heard other tables also asking why they haven’t had they’re drinks given to them after sitting there minutes upon minutes. Another 30 minutes go by... mind you we’ve been there for an hour and a half at this point. Our food starts to come out, one by one. Our waitress realizes two of our plates aren’t out and comes up to ask what we got because my best guess is they forgot to make it entirely. And then there was one. One person without food getting to watch everyone else eat. After 2 hours of waiting. The waitress comes out to inform that they ran out of what was ordered, with an excuse of “being slammed with big party’s all day”. Last plate finally comes out. Food was not all that great either. 3 of them the meat was filled with fat. We got the check, $200+. Was also charged for the meal that took 2 hours to get out and a service charge. Go...
