I'm not sure how this place has almost 5 stars and is opening up a second location. We just visited for lunch and the food and service was awful. The experience left us utterly disappointed and questioning the legitimacy of those high ratings.

Let's start with the food. The vegetables that accompanied our main dishes were clearly frozen and lacked any semblance of freshness. It felt like we were served a reheated, generic assortment of uninspired frozen veggies. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes were shockingly cold, as if they had been sitting out for far too long and it seemed like no effort was put into ensuring they were properly cooked.

The stuffed fish, which we had high hopes for, turned out to be unpalatable. The flavors were completely off, and the dish left a strange aftertaste in our mouths. It was a regrettable choice and a waste of money. The only redeeming aspect of our meal was the appetizer we ordered. It was the lone bright spot in an otherwise bleak dining experience.

As for the service, it was subpar at best. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, showing little care for our needs. It was evident that they lacked proper training or motivation to provide a satisfactory dining experience.

To make matters worse, the drinks we ordered were a disappointment as well. They tasted like something a college student concocted in their dorm room: bland and overloaded with alcohol. The lack of balance and finesse in the cocktails was a major letdown. We expected much more from a place that claims to provide quality drinks.

Overall, our visit to this establishment was a massive letdown. The frozen vegetables, cold mashed potatoes, unpalatable stuffed fish, lackluster service, and poorly crafted drinks left us questioning the positive reviews this place has received. We cannot fathom how it has garnered nearly 5 stars and is expanding to a second location. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out a different dining option that lives up to...

Squid lips is a great restaurant, all 3 locations, I have been going to the Sebastian location for as long as I can possibly remember probably 20 years. However, recently (I usually use a debit or credit card, ) but paid my bill in cash. I was extremely disappointed when looking at my bill that I was charged 3% for paying in cash. I asked to speak to the person in charge, and was told I would have to relay my concerns on the website. This is a concern to myself, and many that I have spoken to. This is a great establishment, but certainly a misrepresentation, and I feel a dishonest approach. If anything, using cash is usually discounted 3%. So the wait staff has no ability to make any adjustments. This elevates the bill any happy hour prices this must be factored in. so the prices on the menu are not correct factor in another 3% for drinks and food irregardless of paying cash or credit card . It can take away from the servers when you realize you are paying this, wouldn’t a dollar more tip be better for your employees? The management is well aware of the owners approach and if you think about it over three very large restaurants, Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, and Sebastian Florida how much added income this can be for the owners . It’s not like they have not raised their prices since Covid I think everyone has, and understandably, so but to slide in an extra 3% charge on all cash sales is not only dishonest but morally wrong. I hope people paying cash will start to notice this. This is total fraud against the Trusting local patrons, as well as our valued seasonal residents and visitors.! What is even more disturbing is they are preparing to soon open two more venues in the Sebastian location a barbecue restaurant and extremely large tiki bar with entertainment! I hope the Owners will take this opportunity to right a...

My wife and I were visiting from the west coast of FL for a friends wedding. We arrived early before our 15 top and had a seat at the bar. The bartenders were full of personality and extremely welcoming. They offers some suggestions and on food and cocktails which we appreciated. After that, our party arrived and they sat us right away.

This is when things went downhill. Fast. The older gal they assigned to us was far out of her element. She was completely incompetent of handling the size of the party by herself and that was made clear right up front.

She was short and rude with every single one of us. From slamming drinks and food down on the table to exclaiming "OH MY GOD" when my wife asked for a side of ranch.

She put the wrong drinks on my tab and coming from the service industry, I knew how to handle it. So I approached her at her station and let her know she had made a mistake but it was ok and to just run it. She then goes back over to the bride and groom, who have already paid their tab, that they owe her another $15 for an orange crush. HOW EMBARRASSING. I then told her AGAIN to keep it on my tab and run it.

The atmosphere was great and the food was, well, to be honest, mediocre at best. The views and drinks were amazing and everybody seemed to be enjoying themself. Except for "sparkle" the rude blue haired middle age waitress that doesn't have any idea how to serve tables. The drinks were wrong. The food was wong. The service was awful.

I can see this place being a decent place to grab a bite to eat and drink with some amazing views but this waiters absolutely ruined it for all 15 of us. 10/10 wouldn't recommend going here with a big party. Instead, go to the bar and enjoy some great cocktails and the bartender banter. They were the best part of the experience. The rest...

If you’re looking for fantastic, seafood, and unique seaside flare, you must check this place out. It is a truly hidden gem in all of the Indian river resort area. Their oak grilled fish, especially with the honey lime sauce is some of the best prepared fish that I’ve had in a restaurant. Their grouper and mahi entrées are amazingly good. With fresh local fish being used daily on Oak Grill fires. You can actually see the wood lined up outside! If you can come early, especially during happy hour, there is plenty of seating. Our group is usually 18 and number, and we never have a problem getting in, as long as you know the crowd and what time to arrive. If you come after six, expect to wait a bit, especially if you have a larger group. What makes this restaurant unique is that 270° of the view is over the water. This restaurant is literally a building out on a pier. Although it’s not encouraged, people can be seen, throwing their shrimp tails and extra fries out the window to the catfish waiting below. In the usual tradition, our kids take their extra french fries, and table scraps down onto the dock to feed the awaiting catfish. Do yourself a favor and go to this place! It is by no means the most expensive restaurant in the area, but from a seafood standpoint, it’s one of the best!

Squid Lips is a must when visiting Sebastian. Located on the water in Sebastian, Squid Lips offers tasty food at reasonable prices with a great view. We sat in a high top next to the water and were fortunate enough to not only see a gorgeous sunset, but a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral! We started off with a pina colada (added a floated of 151 of course), the key lime martini and various wines. The mixed drinks were flavorful and filled with plenty of alcohol. To start, we had the bacon wrapped scallops, Parmesan oysters, fish dip, and conch fritters. The fritters with hot and filled with enough conch. For someone who HATES oysters, these were delicious. The fish dip was Smokey and on par. And the scallops, they were incredible. For dinner, we had the Flounder stuffed with crab meat. The flounder wasn’t my favorite, but not because of how it was cooked, just too mild of a fish for my preference. The crab stuffing was incredible. As for the pricing, maybe a bit on the more expensive side for the area, however, it was well worth it!

Pulled up to Squid Lips in Sebastian, FL knowing something magical was about to happen. The sky wasn’t blue — it was grey, like a moody dolphin or a sad parking lot. Real Florida vibes. Then came Travis — not a server, a culinary wizard in flip-flops. The second he dropped off our food, the grey clouds split open like they saw a BOGO deal at Publix. A beam of sunshine hit our seafood lasagna like the hand of Neptune himself saying, “Eat up, kings.” We devoured seafood lasagna that tasted like it had a master’s degree, clam strips crunchier than a fresh bag of chips, Buffalo chicken that kicked me square in the memory, stuffed shrimp filled with joy and secrets, fish tacos that moonlight as motivational speakers, and a Hawaiian burger that made me want to hula on the dock. Somewhere in the chaos, a pelican tried to file taxes at our table. Travis scared him off with a look that said, “Not today, Carl.” I’d eat here again tomorrow, yesterday, and in the next life. Squid Lips isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a personality.
