My wife and a couple of friends met for lunch today, and unfortunately, our experience was underwhelming. We all felt the food was overpriced for what we received.

My wife and her friend both ordered the #10. The sandwich had more bread than meat and was missing the onions entirely. The Au Jus tasted like it was made from a seasoning packet and had an unpleasant aftertaste. A big turn-off for all of us was the sandwich paper — it stuck to the bread so badly that removing it often tore pieces off, leaving paper stuck to the sandwich and often times ending up in your mouth.

I ordered the #11, which was very disappointing. There were no burnt ends or pork belly anywhere on the sandwich. After taking it apart to see what was inside or in this case what was not inside, I found mostly pulled pork and a few slices of ham, all drowned in BBQ sauce. That sauce was essentially all you could taste. I’m not sure how it would have been if the correct ingredients were included, but as served, it was a big miss and extremely disappointing based on the price of $13.95

Our other friend ordered the #14. His sandwich could have used a lot more meatballs as well as pepperoni but came with enough marinara for a large pizza. Once again, like the other sandwiches, the bread-to-filling ratio was way off — far too much bread for the amount of meat provided.

We all agreed that we’ve had better sandwiches at Firehouse Subs, which offers more meat and better pricing for the portion size. The meal wasn’t terrible, but it could have been much better. The cost is what left a lot to be desired. Our bill came to over $80.00...

Our daughter recommended this place so we popped in for lunch. Upon entering, the place looked very clean. Restaurant had a simple yet playful vibe to it. All the cooking and prep is done in front of you.

I got the #11 Tre Way Jay. It had burnt pork ends which have a tendency to overpower with flavor. This was a nice blend of flavors. I half thought i would lick the paper it was wrapped in.

My wife got the #24 Blue Lagoon Melt. Basically a warm tuna melt. She enjoyed each bite. Ended up taking half home because it was so filling.

My sister in law got the #23 Puff the Magic Dragon Toast. This was a avacado toast with scrambled eggs on it. She opted for no egg. While she ate every bite of it but said next time she would try something else.

The restaurant offered old board games for the customers to play while eating.

We look forward to...

The 2 young men working in the store when we ate here recently around 4:30 in the afternoon (close to closing time), were lovely and really showed amazing customer service. They had smiling faces, answered our questions, took time to explain things to us and never showed an ounce of annoyance (that happens so often these days). So I liked this place before our food even came but then the food was also excellent! The pretzel roll that my TMNT sandwich came on was amazing, the sauce was delicious, and I've never heard of pastrami-seasoned turkey before but it was fabulous! My husband adored and devoured his Cuban sandwich. Thank you for doing what you do so well and taking the time to treat your customers as actual humans. Pride of ownership is evident here. Please give these...

The Paper Bag Sub in Gainesville has a fun, laid-back atmosphere that feels perfectly tailored for college students. From the quirky decor to the lively energy, it’s a spot that doesn’t take itself too seriously—except when it comes to the food. Don’t let the casual vibe fool you; the subs here are legit. We tried the Brooklyn Bombers and the TMNT, both packed with flavor and well-balanced toppings. The bread was fresh, the ingredients high quality, and the portions generous. However, we weren’t as impressed with The Soprano—it just didn’t hit the same way as the others. The staff was super friendly, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a student looking for a quick bite or just passing through, this place is worth a stop.

OMG!!! This place is a “HIDDEN GEM”. As soon as I walked I got a friendly greeting my the cooks and manager, upon looking at the menu the staff was informing me of all the great possibilities I can try. I ended up getting the #10 EvDaBev Crossover Two classics crossover into one. Philly meet French Dip, shaved roast beef, roasted peppers & onions, American & Provolone cheese, chewy Italian Hoagie, seasoned to perfection Au Jus!!!. The sandwich was DELICIOUS!!! Very seasoned meet and the bread was nice and toasted with melted cheeses in the middle. Also they had fresh baked homemade “cookies, pie and Cake that looked so delicious I definitely recommend coming here, this is definitely my new favorite spot for breakfast and lunch.

I ordered the Jean-Claude Van Dam wrap. It was very delicious and had a nice cheese pull. The ingredients tasted like good quality. Food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. They also had a spinny wheel to win fun things like 10% off a sandwich, free upgrade to godfather size, free cookie, and some other things; you can spin if you follow the Paper Bag on social media or write a Google review. I won a free cookie! The cookie also tasted amazing. I thought the spinny wheel was unique and a fun touch - hopefully they keep this going for future guests/visits. Overall, I recommend checking out the Paper Bag! Great place for lunch/brunch with friends. I really enjoyed the music in the restaurant as well.
