The behavior we encountered at the Lindt was deeply disheartening and disturbing. The cashier displayed an astonishing level of rudeness and prejudice towards my mother, repeatedly making remarks like "if she can count" while we were trying to purchase our items. At the cash register, when our chocolate bag exceeded the weight limit, we were met with snide comments, instructing us to put chocolates back. Even as we were complying, the cashier went as far as saying, "it's not my fault you can't count." This unwarranted rudeness left us taken aback and hurt. Seeking a resolution, we requested to speak with a manager, only to find out that none were available for 25 minutes. In an effort to avoid further disruption to our plans, we left the store momentarily and returned 15 minutes later, hoping to find a manager ready to address the situation. Regrettably, the manager was still absent, and as we walked out, the same cashier couldn't resist making one last jab, remarking that "you can't even count 25 minutes." The level of rudeness exhibited throughout this ordeal was truly astonishing. It left us feeling disrespected and, unfortunately, led us to question whether the treatment we endured was influenced by our skin color. The cashier continued to exhibit a snarky attitude and even ignored my mother while tending to other customers. This mistreatment left my mother shaken and in tears due to the blatant discrimination she experienced. Upon returning to the store for the third time, we finally managed to speak with the manager. To our dismay, there was no resolution sought. Instead, we were met with defensiveness from both the cashier and the manager. It was disheartening to hear them accuse us of playing the "race card" and to be told that our concerns should be directed to customer service if we had a problem. We did not engage in any behavior to provoke such disrespectful treatment. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and outright prejudice displayed by the staff was deeply disappointing. We are left appalled by this experience and earnestly hope that corporate takes swift action to rectify this situation. It's crucial that steps are taken to ensure that no customer has to endure such mistreatment...
Read morePros: Great selection of chocolates. The prices are excellent. The employees are always super nice and knowledgeable about their products.
Cons: The staff struggles because there are not enough employees a lot of the time. The store itself is very small. On the weekends it is so jam packed full of people that you can barely move which brings a whole list of problems to mind (shoplifters, emergencies, fires etc) that make me not want to shop there just because of the dangers that could happen. And finally, there really isn't any good parking for the entire area.
Would love to see corporate give this store a remodel, more space, more employees, more lighting. And maybe put a limit as to how many customers can be in the store at one time. I was there last weekend and I swear the amount of people in that tiny place far exceeded what is deemed safe in any establishment. I couldn't even look at all of the products because there was no real way to move around the store. It was so cramped that I ended up leaving without purchasing anything because I couldn't get more then 5 feet from the door in a 30 minute time span. And the poor employees looked like they had been put through the wringer. There were far to many customers and not enough help. They smiled through it...
Read moreWe were in North Conway for a mini-vacation. We went to this store on Friday, and it was quite busy. 2 girls, waited on us, and helped my husband choose a hot chocolate. OH MY! It was soo good. My husband could not get over how good it was. So when we were heading home on Saturday, we decided to stop in first thing in the morning when they first opened to each get another hot chocolate. Stopped in, and Valerie was getting 2 women their hot chocolates. Then we came up, and asked if she was alone. She was, there was a "call-out". So she asked if it was ok to wait on the people in line to cash out. We didn't have anywhere else to go, so we told her to take her time. Once she was back, she was so kind and helpful, where I actually took a cafe au lait instead. Again, so good. After waiting on us, she went back to cashing out more people, and started to get really busy, and we actually bought more chocolates. Again, all with a smile on her face!! She said she'd see...
