We were in the area and spotted Orient Express for some quick Chinese food. We walked in and immediately noticed the buffet. I asked if there was a to-go menu we could order from, and they said they had a full menu available. We pretty much knew what we wanted when we walked in. I decided to try the barbecue rib tips with a side of steamed broccoli, and Wifey went with the Roast Pork Egg Foo Young and grabbed a bottle of lemonade from their side cooler. The person behind the counter told me the order would be ready in 15–20 minutes, so I set a quick 15-minute timer on my back. When I came back, the food wasn’t ready, so I ended up waiting another five to seven minutes while a steady stream of people came in—some dining in and others grabbing buffet containers to go. (Side note: if you get a buffet to-go container, you’re charged by weight.) The staff seemed friendly and kept things moving. When our food finally came out, we packed everything up and headed home. The food actually looked very fresh when we opened it. I dug right in, and everything tasted just as good as it looked—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Wifey commented that the sauce on her dish was way too salty—so much so that she had to mix it with rice to tone it down. She said the other components of the dish were tasty, but if we go back, she’d skip that dish. Aside from the salty sauce, the overall experience was better than expected—definitely more good than bad for a first...
Read moreOne of the best and most authentic Chinese American food experiences you will have. I'm from New York, the home of Chinese American fare, and this is the place where I go when I NEED to feel like I'm back home. I'm half convinced every time I go, to walk into the kitchen and beg to know how the chefs prepare the food. Aside from certain down times I assume, the food is always flavorful, and I hurt my stomach every time because I'm trying to keep as much of their food in my stomach for as long as possible. It's a little dingy inside, but don't let that put you off from trying the food. The buffet area is very clean, and while the restaurant is seemingly in need of a few upgrades, that doesn't take anything away from how great of a place it is. At, I think $12 for an all you can eat buffet with wonderful, high quality food, it just can't be beat. If you're ever in need for quality authentic Chino American cuisine, this should be at the top of your list if you're in or...
Read moreThis place is very dirty. The carpets are so filthy and sticky and overall a big turn off. The tables are so un kept and overall just nasty. As far as the food goes it is nothing special. It used to be really good but not anymore. The lo mein was old and squishy, the rice wasn't as good as it used to be and the meats were sub par. I also would like to say that the shrimp was empty when we came in and wasn't refilled until right before we left. I tried one and it tasted old which was strange considering they had just put it out. The ice cream containers were also dirty and the little sink to clean the scoop was hilarious considering that it was of no use at all. It dripped out the smallest bit of cold water and would have taken a half hour to clean anything. Overall the food is not great but not enough to make you sick and the place is dirty. The prices are nice but I would rather pay more not to stick...
