This place used to be top notch however lately it's been far from it. The last few time's I've been in here my smoothie has been very icy with chunks in it. They're usually friendly but that has also changed. I came in this past Friday and not only were the guys working rude but they were extremely slow and didn't know what on earth they were doing. I'm 110% confident I could've gotten behind that counter and made the other customers and myself far more satisfied. I understand mistakes happen and I might get a bad smoothie once every blue moon but literally EVERY time I visit? That's unacceptable. Especially for the price they charge. I ordered online and asked for curbside pickup when I arrived and was told my smoothie would be brought out but after waiting in the parking lot for 15 minutes, I walked in to get it and there it was sitting in the to go box. I called and asked to speak to a manager but was informed there wasn't one present and he asked what the problem was. I proceeded to tell him my issue was calling and being told it would be brought out then he asked the other guy working "Did you tell her you'd bring it out?" The guy said "We didn't tell you we'd bring it out we're way too busy for that." I said well for one yes, you did tell me that and two, you shouldn't offer pickup if you can't follow through with it. I understand you're busy and at times you might not be able to offer that service but tell me that when I call to pick it up, not after I've sat in your parking lot for 15 minutes. I then also made him aware my smoothie was extremely crunchy and the ice was not crushed. He said well you can bring it back in and we can remix it but we're backed up by like 25 people. I said well no I'm not driving back out there because I spent half my lunch break waiting on it after I was told it would be brought out to me. He said well it's not my fault we're backed up and it's not my fault our blenders are messed up. I said no maybe it isn't your fault but it also isn't my fault and I am a loyal paying customer who pays a high price for a quality smoothie which I have failed to receive and as someone who has worked in customer service my entire adulthood, your way of handling this is not up to par. You should apologize and offer to replace the smoothie at another time or refund my money...not sit here and tell me it isn't your fault. He then hung up on me. I called again today (Monday) and there still isn't a manager I can speak to. Who runs this place? Clearly the young people in here aren't getting the training they need and if there is even a manager who works here, he/she is going to look extremely bad by not being there to coach the employees or even speak to customers regarding complaints. I sure hope the manager cares more than the associates do or this place will soon...
Read moreJust the other day...I can’t believe I paid $36.71 for 3 medium smoothies. No add-ons, just the basic Angel Food as they call it (strawberry + banana). That’s $9.29 each before tax and tip. It's completely ridiculous for what amounts to fruit, ice, and a blender.
Let’s be real: the ingredients cost maybe $1.50 per smoothie. Bananas are about 25 cents each. Strawberries maybe a dollar per serving. Add some ice, a dash of yogurt or milk, blend for 30 seconds—and you’ve got what should be a $3-4 product at most. Even factoring in overhead, rent, labor, and profit, Smoothie King’s pricing feels completely out of touch.
Smoothies should be healthy and affordable. These aren’t either. They're overpriced and overloaded with sugar. To make matters worse I Googled the nutrition facts for the medium smoothie I ordered. It has 91 grams of carbohydrates and a staggering 83 grams of sugar!! That’s the equivalent of over 20 teaspoons of sugar. That's more than 2 cans of Coke or nearly 3 Snickers bars!
This is just another reminder of why we need to support local businesses over big franchises. Local spots often offer better quality, more reasonable prices and have a better understanding of...
Read moreCame into the store, I ordered and was friendly talking with the employee present. Mentioned I knew someone who used to work there, and in response the employee stated that the owner told them that the employee I knew, as well as the coworkers that also worked there at the time brought cockroaches into the store because they did not keep the store well. If that statement was true or not I find it very unprofessional that the owner may have said that about former employees , as well as the fact I as a customer was being told this. It also made me aware that there may have been a bug problem in the past which definitely made me avoid it since then. Either way ( if the statement the employee made was true) it means the owner was being unprofessional and not taking responsibility for the cleanliness of their building , as well as speaking about former employees in an unprofessional manner or ( if the employees statements were false ) It means the employee is spreading false information about the business ( for no apartment reason ) , and acting unprofessionally with customers. will not be...
