I was not very impressed with this place compared to the other Asian fusion restaurants I have been to. Compared to other restaurants in general, it's okay. I'll break it down into categories:
Service: D- Poor service. While ordering, I was asked to wait frequently and had to wait for the cashier to complete whatever task she did for a solid 3 minutes. She also was distracted with talking to co-workers while I ordered and often missed items I was saying. I had to repeat myself frequently. Receiving forks, spoons, and plates was a process in itself and I had to go up to the counter 5 times in order to receive the proper eating utensils.
Ambiance: B It has a nice seating area, which is great for large groups. The wall murals are cute and there is a Jenga game which is a fun addition. I thought the cleanliness was average. The music was too loud so it was difficult to hear the conversation I was having, but I could very clearly hear the conversation behind me.
Food: C Some dishes were good, some were tasty, some fell below average. The ramens lacked depth of flavor and weren't especially good for the basic ramens they were. The buns had very tender and flavorful meat, a tasty sauce, and pretty good toppings. They were tasty. The Fyr Ball (takoyaki) was very good. Crisp, soft, and well flavored and came out fresh. The potato was over salted and the yakitori zuchinni was below average. Overall, some dishes were pretty good, others were disappointing. Definitely not as good as compared to many other Asian fusion restaurants.
Bubble tea: C Very average. The milk bubble tea was watery and didn't have a tea flavor. The lychee tea tasted like the standard lychee bubble tea and was not...
Read moreWent to fyr and ice for the first time today and the first impression i had of this restaurant was more than pleasant. The restaurant is located in a main street facing traffic which makes it very easy to find. When you walk in you youre greeted by the owner with a very friendly face and you cant help but notice how clean the environment is. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious ramens, the famous boba tea, deserts, ice creams with all sorts of toppings, etc.. that you cant help but crave everything listed cause it all looks so good. The design is modern and very appealing to the eyes. I wasnt sure what to get so the owner offered her suggestion of beverage and appetizer. She brought out the tornado potato which is a whole potato twisted in a fancy way on a skewer and strawberry flavored boba tea. The potato was AMAZING!! Lightly seasoned to perfection and the boba tea was phenomenal (best i ever drank). I left so impressed with everything that i just couldnt walk away and not share the lovely experience. If your craving a good meal in a clean restaurant with a family friendly environment FYR and ICE is...
Read moreStopped by for a couple treats and was not overly impressed. It seems they fixed up the other place that used to be in this location, which was kind of bizarre in that it was an old frozen yogurt shop that they changed into an Asian take out spot/Asian market. You can still see the remants of the failed froyo business, but they have definitely fixed the place up a bit. I ordered an egg waffle and mochi ice cream. The egg waffle was decent, but the mochi ice cream was store bought and old. They took it out of the box in front of me. One flavor was freezer burned and the other was stale. It would be better if they did not take items they sell out of the box (that anyone can purchase at the supermarket) in front of the customers. I think that just like the previous business that was there (which I suspect was run by the same owners), they should focus on the quality of what they sell over the quantity. The previous place sold froyo, chicken, pho, and Chinese food as well as random Asian goods. This place has a huge variety of foods on the...
