I was very taken aback by the huge increase in pricing. What used to cost me $6.95 for a combination plate including fried rice and egg roll now costs $11. They've eliminated the egg roll from the lunch menu so the only way to get what used to be $6.95 is to now get a dinner meal which includes the egg roll. Very pricey for a Chinese takeout lunch.
As far as the food is concerned it was better than many of the Chinese restaurants in town. Many places now offer pork fried rice as yellow rice with peas and carrots. Hardly real fried rice. This fried rice was tan in color, actually included pork not diced ham, had no peas or carrots, and did have onions, scallions, and egg.
On my main course the vegetables were crispy and everything seemed fresh.
This place has no atmosphere because it's take out only so when you walk in the door there's a simple counter for you to get your food. The food was ready on time and there seem to be a suitable portion.
My final take is, if you're looking for good inexpensive Chinese food this is not the place. If you just want a quick takeout there are probably nicer places at the same price or less. I would have given more stars if the pricing hadn't changed so dramatically. The photos are the actual menus that are taped to the counter when you walk in the door so they did not even take the trouble to print out new menus with the adjusted prices. This way you know exactly how much you're...
Read moreThis was the worse first experience I had at this place . When I called to order the woman that answered the phone barely spoke any English . I simplified my order so she can understand “6 wing plain with Fried rice no pork with hot oil on the side “ simple. She begins to say “No Charge No Charge if added” I explain to her I like hot oil on rice but not too spicy … that’s why I asked for it to be placed on the side. Service was quick which was the best part 15 min wait . I go to pick up my food and the atmosphere was terrible . There was a small fan blowing the lady looked drenched in sweat & I just assumed that’s why they call this place “SunSun” because it was hot as hell and it did not smell pleasant that’s why I decided to check my food . She ask me for payment first hands me my food and when I open to check my food the rice is dried out and the chicken has hot oil on top of the chicken with big Vegetables on top of the chicken . I explained to her that I did not order this and she stated they took they time to make it & I let her know this is not what I ordered you can either make it over or refund me . She doesn’t apologize but she tells me “ I give refund doncallnomore , you wasted my time and food .” To make their service better they need to have someone that understands and speaks English so they don’t make these type...
Read moreI wish that I could give no stars to this restaurant, but the only choice was 1. Do not go to this place if you want good service. I tried giving them an opportunity 3 different times and every single time they were rude, impatient and disrespectful. I couldn’t even order my food over the phone because I kept getting put on hold without notice or hung up on and then when I Asked what was going on the owner told me that I “can order or not, I don’t care”. On my first try, I was able to actually place an order and asked for honey chicken. She gave me honey garlic, and then tried to argue or chew me out once I arrived to pick up my food because I did not want to just take the garlic chicken that she tried to force me to have. Find another Chinese restaurant because this is not the place if you want good service and good food. Once I was able to even get the food, it wasn’t even that good so today I’m glad I was able to save my money. Do not go there. Based on what she said she doesn’t care anyways so, maybe she doesn’t need any...
