This was my go to spot. Atmosphere was great and the food was even better but after tonight, I’m not going back. I ordered my food like regular and when I went to pick it up, I asked the little girl that worked there for the small cups of tomato soup that I normally ask for without problem. The little girl looked at me and said “You gotta pay for it” I told her I never paid for it and I pointed to where they normally get it. She goes “Yeah I know” and went to talk with a short guy with a beard in Spanish and then he turns to me and said “YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT SINCE YOU WANT 3 CUPS” while holding up 3 fingers. I was taken aback by him being so aggressive. I told him again I never paid for it but the girl turns to me and says “WHO GAVE IT TO YOU BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO PAY FOR IT?” I told her anyone I ask when I come and pick up the food but it doesn’t matter, I’ll just pay for it and not make it a big deal. Paying for it is not a problem for me, it’s the response that I got that is very rude and disrespectful. She told me to stand in line and order it. I find it funny that they say that I always have to pay for it when it’s not even on the menu to pay for it. How would I know there is a side of tomato soup if it’s not on the menu? So I go and wait in the line to pay for the side. I would’ve left right after the man being aggressive but my mom wanted the soup for her quesadilla. As I’m waiting, I go onto the Talkin Tacos app to see if maybe they put it on the menu and I didn't see it but guess what? IT’S NOT THERE🙄. As I go to pay, the little girl comes over and says “You have to order it up “CONSOMMÉ” and then tell us that you want tomato soup instead.” I just shook my head because that was never an option but I just went to pay for it. She looks at me and says “Since it’s such a problem, I’ll go and get the manager” and she walks away. As I paid for it, the manager comes over and says “I WAS TOLD YOU HAD A PROBLEM WITH PAYING FOR THE SOUP. YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO LAY FOR THE SOUP.” I told her I’m not making it a big deal and shoo’d her away from me. I’m not going to argue over no damn soup. There is a new Taco place up the street from me so I’ll spend my...
Read moreCame here today after hearing how great the place is and that they’re also new. We did carry-out and they were very busy inside with takeout and dine-ins. So my siblings and i together ordered one bang bang shrimp taco, one Caribbean taco, one quesa birria, one blue mint lemonade. So here’s how everyone felt, I enjoyed the bang bang shrimp taco it was delicious. My sister enjoyed her Caribbean taco and i had one and it wasn’t bad but not the best. My brother enjoyed his quesa birria as well. Now he got the blue mint lemonade and I tried it as well as my sister and we all thought it was disgusting. It was a sad excuse of a beverage. Didnt taste like lemonade nor did it have any minty taste to it. It was just a bland powder blue liquid. So I wouldn’t recommend this at all. The portions are awful as hell. They charge all this money for an empty taco that is flavorful and thats it. The shrimps and steak were so tiny chopped up bite sized pieces. I didnt like how they threw tortilla chips on top of my brothers quesa birria it could have been put on the side and presented better or in a separate container. It didnt look cheesy at all as they advertise online. For being new im very impressed with the taste of the food but disappointed in the amount in the tacos. Keep the meat and shrimp whole not diced and add more cheese. My tacos also werent hot and finished way before my pickup time. So it shows that they made it super early and left it to freeze until I arrived. Thats completely unprofessional, now with this all being said i may and may not come back. If the portions aren’t fixed and the beverage and presentation then why waste my money. For me taste isnt everything when i get food I consider everything to consider...
Read moreI usually have good experiences here, but after last night, I'm beyond disappointed. I placed an order at 1:44 AM TO GO -- well before your 2:00 AM closing time -- and waited outside for my food. Shortly after, my order was brought out to me. As I got up to grab some hot sauce for my two burritos, I realized the young lady who brought my food had already locked the door behind her.
I knocked politely asking for assistance, but Eddie, who the young lady later identified as the manager on duty, simply looked at me and made a cut-throat gesture to signal that they were closed -- even though they had just handed me my food SECONDS earlier. I continued trying to get someone's attention, even showing Eddie through the glass that I just needed condiments, but he blatantly ignored me.
Minutes later, a delivery driver arrived and knocked. Eddie immediately acknowledged him, verified his order, opened the door, and handed him food -- all while continuing to ignore my simple request for hot sauce. I called Eddie out for being extremely disrespectful, especially considering my food had just been served and I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. His response? "Why do you even need sauce?" Then he shut the door on me and walked away.
Thankfully, the young lady who had originally brought my order eventually came and handed me some hot sauces after witnessing the entire situation.
This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at Talkin' Tacos. To treat a paying customer this way, especially when all I needed was a basic condiment for the food I had just purchased, is pathetic. Eddie should not be managing anything if that's the level of customer service he thinks is acceptable.
Highly...
