On 6/20/222 my waitress Anneliese8615 was nice but not very observant nor attentive despite going in the late afternoon and what appeared to be a slow time. My guest and I and two other separate tables which were also a party of two were in her in section. As I waited for my guest to arrive Anneliese asked me what would I like to order and I asked for two glasses of water for myself and my guest who was arriving shortly, she brought one.
The moment my guest arrived, Anneliese happened to be near and walked over to ask what we'd like to order but my guest wasn't ready as she was just sitting down so I asked for a couple of minutes and for that second glass of water (the one that I originally asked for). She apologized and said sure then left. Several minutes passed and she returned without the water and asked what would we like to order. We didnt say anything and just ordered drinks and said we needed a couple more minutes to decide if we wanted to order any food. At this point we were contemplating if we wanted to even stay because the service was noticeably poor at this point.
Several minutes go by and our waitress still hadnt checked on us but another waiter did as he saw me trying to search for her. I believe his name was Nel or Del but he was a young-ish latin guy. He was very helpful, made a few recommendations and took our order. He was so pleasant and attentive that we asked if we could switch to him. He was flattered by the request but said they work in sections and we weren't in his but that he would gladly help at any time.
As he's putting in our order Anneliese pops up from whereever she was to meet him at the register. It was clear she was talking under her breath as he put in the order for us. Shortly after we got our food and drink order. It was still hard to pinpoint where Anneliese was to get another round of drinks and we had to flag yet another waiter down to locate her which was infuriating at this point because it wasn't busy in the restaurant or at least in our section.
We eventually got our drink order in and asked for a refill of water for me and a glass of water for my guest since she never brought it. We wanted to stay for more drinks but the service was so bad that we decided not to. I paid for the tab, tipped Anneliese AND the previous waiter (Del or Nel) and we went down to the BJs restaurant to continue our night out. We were really hoping to have a nicer experience because we originally were going to go to BJs but she wanted to go to this establishment to get something specific...
Read moreI am excited to have the opportunity to amend my previous review of the Coral Springs Tap 42. Our first visit there was not so great, but this was obviously an anomaly. It was an example of 'anyone can have a bad day', and 'everyone deserves a second chance to make a good first impression'. The GM, Matt Miller asked me to give the restaurant a second try. We did, and it was a totally different experience. Robert, our server, did a great job. He was friendly and helpful. We ordered Calamari for an appetizer, and it was delicious. My son and I ordered the Prohibition Burger. Cooked perfectly. I had the Brussel Sprouts as a side, and I really loved them. My wife and daughter in law loved their meals. I got to meet Matt, and he is really a great guy. We all thought it was a great experience, and we will be back for sure.
[This was my first visit to Tap 42 in Coral Springs. I was with my wife and son. Maria was our waitress. My son and I ordered the Drunken Goat burger. Mine was good, but my son ordered his Medium Rare. It arrived Rare. He didn't say anything. He just ate it, but was not thrilled. My wife ordered the Truffle Filet sandwich. She ordered Medium Rare also. When the food arrived, my wife ate almost half of her sandwich, but thought it was too Rare, and tough to cut. I looked at the other half, and it was almost Raw. She could not eat it. When Maria 'eventually' came back to the table, I showed her the Raw meat. She apologized and asked if we wanted it cooked more. I said no. She said that we could 'take it home and cook it more'. If my intention was to cook my own food properly, I would have bought the ingredients at Publix and cooked it myself. She didn't offer to remove the food from the bill, which was the right thing to do. She didn't get a manager, which was the other right thing to do. No, when she brought the check, there was our $22.50 raw sandwich on the bill. She needs to be retrained, and the chef / cook needs to buy a new chart showing what meat looks like at different levels. I paid my bill, but I did not reward Maria's...
Read moreI have been dining in Tap 42 restaurants for a long time. I go there because of their excellent food and service. Never before have I had such a horrible experience as my husband and I had last night.
We were meeting a couple that we had never met before and I suggested Tap 42. I said it was a great place with excellent food and service.
My husband called and changed our reservation from 2 to 4 people. When our new friends got there before us they gave our name. There wasn't a reservation under our name. Go figure.
We arrived shortly after and sat down. The server came immediately and asked if she could get us something to drink. My husbands drink was supposed to be Dewars and water. She came with a glass of scotch, no ice, no water. That was the beginning.
We sat there for twenty minutes before she came back and asked us if we were ready to order and at that time we were not and asked her to give us a little more time. She never asked if we wanted to order more drinks or offer more water. Thirty minutes later, we were still waiting for our server to come back. Our drink and water glasses were all empty. We asked the hostess to please have our server come to our table so we could order. She came about 5 min. later. Took our order and away she went. No water, no drinks, no I'm sorry, no nothing.
Our food came out and it was excellent as always. I asked for a couple of things from the food runner and it never came back. Finally our server came after 10 minutes while everyone was almost finished. I told her that we were very upset and we were in need of water. The first thing out of her mouth was, "you can talk to the manager" with an attitude and off she went. What happened to, I'm so sorry! Soon after, the manager came and also had an attitude. We told him we needed water. He got us water immediately and brought those items I asked for. By that time everyone was finished with their dinner.
We weren't asking for anything, but good service! I'm sad that I picked this place for our dinner with...
