El Sol de Mexico — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

These people are straight legit crooks, thieves, liars an just all around terrible people. The night before we placed in a order over the phone we told them exactly how we wanted it. So I show up just before 30 minutes before closing time. I don't live far from the place as soon as I got home I opened it an it wasn't made the way I told them several times to make it the way I told them. So I immediately got on the phone with whoever an told them that they made the order wrong. Ever buinsess is obligated to accommodate "FREE OF CHARGE", you don't even have to bring the order back or even the receipt cause we immediately notice that our order had been made wrong. So as I talked with the male who took our order he said it was to late to make it that night to come back in the morning, I insisted that they remake it real quick an that I would go pick up the order right away. They said No cause they where already closing mind you it was just like 15 to 18 minutes till closing time they could of remade it cause it was our dinner for the night an I told them that an out of courtesy they could have remade it right there an then. We'll I told the guy to write down exactly how I wanted my order I gave him my name, my number an he told me to come back in the morning an I would assume it would be made free of charge cause it was their fault. He told me come in the morning well I didn't come that morning cause it was my day off I wanted sleep in, so I came later that night. So before I headed over there I called them to remind them of who we where an to start remaking out order they agreed an they even admitted to making the mistake as it was a male I was talking to. He said it would take 10 minutes, so as I get there I pulled up to the intercom an told them I had a remake I had to pick up. It was a lady who answered an said "Pull to the front window" as I did I expected for them to bring me my order that they "Admitted to messing up" so I waited an waited an waited for nearly 15 minutes nobody came to the window. I even called twice to their number an they immediately hung up on me. I was extremely upset I went in an told them that I was waiting an that I they couldn't give me my order till I talked to the manager. Absolutely unprofessional! So I actually called the manager an he told me that I needed to bring the plate back in an normally no restraunt buinsnesses ask for it they know it's professional like on there part to trust the customer who is a regular or even if it's not a regular. He told me that the only way he would fit our order without bringing the plate an receipt that he would offer us a discount of 20% off of the plate they messed up. The manager/owner was extremly rude to us. I highly recommend you "DO NOT" go there. They are ripping people off. An also to mention the place is located in a dangerous DRUG AND GANG RELATED Area. No telling what can happen to you or your car an better yet El sol de mexico are probably just as worst! Fair warning...

I eat at this restaurant all of the time, as I work nearby. At least 3 to 4 days a week. The food is usually good, but the cost and overcharging are ridiculous. A few times, I was overcharged, once they said they were charging me for lettuce and tomatoes on a chalupa, can you believe that! Well, I went through the drive thru recently, and let me tell you, the charges were ridiculous. So I ordered 4 asada tacos and cheese dip, or chili con queso with no meat. In the restaurant the price is 2.99 a taco and 3.99 for cheese dip. So, it's 16 plus tax. When I get to the window, it's 22 and change! I asked why and explained what the price should be because I know that menu pretty well. She said they charged me for chips and salsa. I said I didn't order chips and salsa. She said the queso doesn't come with chips. Okay, what Mexican restaurant doesn't give chips with queso. That was 3 extra dollars. Then I asked for a receipt. The queso was 1 dollar more than the menu price, she said it was because it was a Togo order. Then I saw a 99 cent charge and she said that was for onions and cilantro. I told her when we eat there, just like I did for lunch that same day, you can choose lettuce and tomatoes OR onions and cilantro. She said it's different in the drive thru and that it was supposed to be 1.50! This is all completely ridiculous, mind you, this isn't the first time this has happened. This will be the last time me and my co-workers and will be going there. There are 5 other Mexican restaurants around that won't nickel...

There menus state one thing when your order is picked up its totally different I say because last week I ordered #28 wow it was so delicious. Today I ordered the same thing #28 it was terrible. The bag has alot of juice in it spilled onto the pick up order person's vehicle seat. Now this #28 has big jalapenos in it which was not on the menu for this order. It is a family for 4 order it's a waste of money due to false menu preparation. The woman at restaurant who answered was rude and very unhelpful. She claims that's the way they make it yet it wasn't on my first order last week. That's why I had felt comfortable ordering it today. Would a parent feed their kids spiced up food with such big jalapenos in it? That would get them ill. If I would of known the true ingredients in #28 I would of ordered something else. I'm very unsatisfied and will never recommend this restaurant again. A waste of money. Oh and no manager on the job. What the heck where's the person in charge capable to respond. The woman says oh call tomorrow when manager is here? Really? Seriously? As I say, NEVER...
