When we arrived the hotel exterior and interior was great. All common areas were clean and did not have a musty carpet smell that some hotels tend to have where carpet exist on the upper floors. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful which is great. The only issues we had were, we had the Do not disturb tag on the door but our bed was made while we were away so we were a little surprised but I guess we should be happy? The other issue is that this was our 1st stay at Aloft we normally stay in other Marriotts that provide breakfast and apparently this one did not (which I was not aware of but thats on me) however, there was a lot of breakfast items laid out on the bar top similar to the spread Im used to seeing at the others. I chose an item and the front desk says may I add that to your charges? I said oh, well ok! So my request would be to put little prices in front of each item or visible somewhere so we are aware because Im pretty sure I saw others walk away without adding any charges to their room and besides we should know how much they are without having to ask. (The premium coffee did have a little sticker on it showing the price but the food did not) The rooms were nice but the bathroom and sink area is small and there is not much room to place your things. So when you close the barn door to the toilet and shower area (which is super heavy by the way) you dont have much elbow room to undress to shower and nowhere to place your clothing while showering. The coffee maker and tray are on a top shelf so if you're short good luck! We looked at their eat in menu and decided to go out instead so we can't comment on the food quality itself. The ac was perfect the bed was comfy. The pool area was well kept and beautiful ambiance at night. The parking lot was well lit in the back and front. Because there is a bar across the street we are given parking tags to identify those staying at the hotel and those that shouldn't be parking there, for this reason the parking was ample. This particular hotel was in a great geographical location if you want to get to Port A or N Padre Island as well as being in close proximity to the mall, great restaurants and other discount stores for necessities. The price was a little higher but expected because this is peak season. Overall this hotel was a good choice and we would stay again if our primary choice was booked to...

Read moreAloft was chosen because of it's reputation and pricing. I wasn't disappointed. When I arrived I was greeted and given my key under 5 mins. The room was easy to find.
The room itself is huge. There are places to set your luggage and a desk area at the end. The king bed was made up well and the pillows super soft. My room had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a safe. I wasn't expecting a fridge. It was a pleasant surprise.
The bathroom was clean. I was most impressed by the large shower. They use Dry Bar products. I am a huge fan of the Dry Bar and was excited to wash my hair.
My dog was so excited. He is a 7 1/2 lb toy poodle. He pranced around the room sniffing this and that. He jumped on and off the bed bucking around like a little goat. He was having a blast throwing his toys around the room. He gives 5 paws.
The bed wasn't too hard or soft. It was just right. I slept pretty good. There is a club across the street that is barely noisy. I really didn't care because I had ear plugs so the noise was not a problem. If you can't hang with noise or have noise aversion then it's best to bring ear plugs.
They only have a couple of restaurants within walking distance. I wasn't in the mood for either so I ordered Door Dash from the Cheesecake Factory and it came quickly right to my room.
They have a little doggie area outside. Downside is that it is not fenced in. You have to keep your baby on a leash at all times. I just didn't feel safe at night since the area is in the back of the hotel in the parking area. I just feel unsafe. People lurk ya know. I recommended they fence that in.
They do have a security guard which is awesome. I didn't feel unsafe taking my dog outside at night. Security is a huge plus.
All in all I'd recommend Aloft. You'll read some negative reviews complaining about the pain chipping etc. I didn't have that problem. My problem was that I didn't want to leave. It was so comfortable. But really, it's not a 5 star hotel. You're not going to get perfection. For the price point it is absolutely awesome. I'll be staying at this...
