My first review would not post for some reason so I’ll try again my wife and I came to this restaurant for dinner after reading multiple reviews that showed positive comments however once seated and after we ordered, I continued reading reviews and saw multiple reviews going back almost a year and a half sighting issues saying that the food was bland rubbery overcooked And they were comments about the calamari that say things to the effect that the calamari should be called squid sticks that they were rubbery hard and lacked flavor. my wife and I had the exact same experience. The calamari sticks were hard as a bland and lacked flavor unless you dump them in the sauce that they provided and the sauce did not pair well with fish.. My Wife! ordered grilled fish grilled fish was rubbery overcooked and tasted burnt. The charm marks indicate the grill was too high heat setting. I’ll add this that I’m a retired restaurant owner and chef. I ordered the fish and chips with fried shrimp. Everything on my plate had a burnt taste. This was due to the fact the oil had not been changed in the deep fryer in quite some I assume which always provides a burnt flavor I had to call Management over a large clump of hair fried shrimp. I might add that I’m bald in the hair was not mine, the fried fish was supposed to be flounder yet I found they were substituting cod for flounder that has been around seafood for any length of time or been in the restaurant business can tell you that flounder is flaky and fries very well while cod is a much denser fish that does not flake as well and tends to hold the oil when it’s deep fried. Cooked food called Management. They apologize for the hair. I made the decision to let them know our opinions on the rest of the meal which my wife had already set her plate to the side and given it up eating and I done the same she then took my plate into the kitchen and said she’d be back. She came back and said that she called the CEO of the restaurant chain and that they had decided to cop my meal. I told him I didn’t want it comp as I intended to leave a review and wanted to feel like I had the right to review so I ended up leaving $50 in the table, which is what I felt the amount of food left on the table was worth it worth an excellent restaurant. It should be really good but Management has been making excuses for the same complaints for over a year if you read through the lower rated comments and reviews if I own a restaurant and I’ve been getting the same comments that food is bland, rubbery, overcooked, and without flavor, I would make a change very quickly Yet after the complaints are coming up over and over perhaps it’s time for a new chef and a new CEO I would say eat anywhere else in Corpus Christi on the waterfront and you will enjoy a fantastic meal. It’s quite evident that the owner and CEO and chef of this particular restaurant seriously don’t care about the food. They turn out they treated as bar food And casual but many years experience with restaurants and being a chef, casual dining enjoyable, and you should be able to eat the food. It’s a real shame when you come to a restaurant like this on the ocean and experience a meal like this. The servers were fantastic, apologetic and very kind.. It’s a shame to see reviews over and over again in excess of the year with the same complaints and no changes so again I would say eat anywhere in Corpus Christi on the water, except...
Read moreYou’re in for an enjoyable experience dining at this outdoor, floating restaurant with perfect views of downtown Corpus. Located in the Corpus Christi Marina and surrounded by sailboats, Harrison’s Landing has fantastic food and local live music. You will love dining outdoors in this quaint eatery. Not only do they offer incredible food and a unique dining experience, they also have a boutique and give boating tours.
We received personable and friendly service, but it lacked in promptness compared to the other establishments we visited in Corpus during that trip. There was not a long wait for our appetizer or entrées, but our server seemed to “disappear” at times. Overall, the service was okay and our server pleasurable, but she needed to be more attentive. The food was phenomenal and arrived at the table without a long wait, which made up for the mediocracy of our server.
We started with the Seafood Ceviche served with House Fried Tortilla Chips. The ceviche consisted of Gulf shrimp and white fish marinated in a blend of citrus, cucumbers, tomatoes, green onions, cilantro, and red onions. Then, it’s topped with diced avocado and served with the house fried tortilla chips. It’s divine.
For our main entrées, we ordered the Redfish Casino, a grilled fillet dressed with homemade hollandaise sauce, pico de gallo, lump blue crab, and sliced avocado, and served with rice pilaf and grilled mixed vegetables. Seasoned perfectly and grilled to perfection, the fish scored high on our list. We also ordered the Tavern Panko Shrimp with Shiner Bock Rings served with coleslaw and hush puppies. Those shiner rings, y’all! Not only are they ginormous, but I have to say they are the best onion rings I’ve ever had—ever. They are huge, crispy, and so flavorful. You must sample the Shiner Bock Rings when you visit Harrison’s Landing. The shrimp was amazing. I loved every bite.
As you dine on the floating dock, enjoy the live music, the salty sea air, and the sights and sounds of the waterfront. We loved the live music and found the casual atmosphere of the establishment relaxing.
I highly recommend a visit to Harrison’s Landing. The phenomenal food and unique establishment leave you with a memorable dining experience. Enjoy fresh seafood on a floating dock and soak in the beautiful scenery around you. After your meal, shop for gifts, apparel, and décor in the boutique, then end your visit with a boat tour around the marina. You won’t be...
Read moreService was very good and very professional up to a point. Calamari is HORRIBLE large thick “fingers deep fried. Rubbery and bland without the dipping sauce which had flavor but didn’t match a seafood profile. Ahi tuna presentation was great but there was no flavor at all…..my wife’s grilled fish was bland, over cooked and the grill char marks made it taste burnt ( grill heat was too high) I ordered fish chips and shrimp. All of the fried food tasted burnt probably due to old oil. ( I am a retired restaurant owner and chef. ) Here’s the worst part they were selling the fish and chips as flounder ( very light white flaky fish perfect for F&C’s however they were actually serving cod. A heavier fish that is dense and doesn’t flake when derp fried) service was good to a point as the manager came over and comped the meal largely due to the clump of hair that was in my fried shrimp (cooked into the batter and I’m bald) I pointed out that they were passing off Cod for flounder…. And she became angry and said she signs n all the fish and its flounder so ai told her she needed to go to the fish market and take a refresher course because it was Cod…..Noyhing my wife and I ordered was good. I ate the Ahi tuna but that’s all we touched besides a few bites to try everything else. I see the CEO’s reply comments going back over a year……same complaints in almost every review. Nothing has changed. Perhaps it’s time for a new chef…….Or CEO. I left $50 cash for the meal so I could feel entitled to review this place. Others were compliant of various other things…..on a fantastic trip through Texas this place was a tremendous disappointment. Given that management has made excuses for nearly a year on every negative review and promised change yet we experienced the same issues, I would eat anywhere but this place….which is a shame as the servers work hard and are...
