I was served by Shawna. She was knowledgeable about the menu, but she wasn't the friendliest member of the staff... I don't know if she was having a rough morning, but she seemed fairly irritable. I ordered the Oregon Trail Steak and Eggs. I am diabetic, so I asked if I could get extra eggs instead of the hashbrowns. Shawna stated that they could only do one extra egg, which is fine but I would have been willing to pay extra for another. The steak was a little smaller than I would have preferred, but it was cooked to perfection. Maybe next time instead of asking for an extra egg, I'll ask for a second steak. It would be worth it. The eggs were delicious. The biscuit was light and fluffy. The dining area was very clean and homely. The restroom was serviceable, but clearly not cleaned the same standard. Most of the staff was very friendly. Overall, I would definitely recommend Elmer's and I will probably come back when I am in town.

My daughter and I dined at Elmer’s while visiting OSU. When we got there it was a packed restaurant with people waiting for tables and instantly knew the food would be delicious. We ordered the German pancakes with lindonberry butter and classic eggs Benedict. The food was superb! The service was nothing short of excellent. From the host to the waitress and the manager who is the owner. When we left town my daughter realized she left her air pods pro at the restaurant. When I called the restaurant I spoke to the manager(owner) and he immediately offered to ship the package directly to us! The package arrived the next day! He didn’t ask for payment for shipping and said he was happy that we dined at his restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised that we received such great service which is hard to find nowadays. I give this place 10 stars if there was an option. For the best service and good, you need to eat here!

Quality food, ample portions, attentive service. What more do you want? A TV monitor displaying Keno numbers? Oh, they've got that, too. I ordered the Denver-Tillamook omelette. Fluffy eggs, smoked ham cubes kind of chunky, with chunky red and green peppers and sauteed onions. I chose the hash browns which were a little different - wide strips of potatoes, nicely browned and not too greasy; Heinz catsup. It came with a nice, tall biscuit with a nice, big tub of butter- plenty for my needs. $12.79 for the food. Fair, I thought, in this inflationary age. I ordered a coffee, which was kind of expensive, but had a nice fresh roasty taste and the waitress came by four times to refill my cup; $3.49. I felt it was worth a $4.00 tip.

We decided to try Elmer's because Sherri's was busy. We were seated right away but quickly noticed we were out of place. Everybody there was very old and we were getting weird looks, but whatever. My mom wasn't very hungry, so she just ordered something off the kids menu.

The waitress was cool with it, but the manager overheard and just as I was finishing up explaining why it would be a bad business move to not allow adults to order off the kids menu, he sent the waitress back over to tell us we couldn't order off that menu.

Now I understand corporations have policies, but a good manager wouldn't enforce a policy that alienates customers like that. He gained nothing from doing that other than to ensure my entire family has a story about Elmer's that isn't exactly flattering.

On our way out he didn't acknowledge us at all. He was standing right at the door so we had to wall right past him and he didn't even look at us, much less say goodbye or have a nice day. Nothing. I did notice that as each of the boomers left he was as sweet as could be.

Clearly, this manager discriminates based on age in every way he can, which is weird since it's a federally protected class. I always wondered why nobody ever wanted to go there, now I know. Seems like if you're primary customer base is aging and diminishing you'd want to encourage younger people to come in, but I guess this manager has a different strategy, which is clearly supported by his manager, and the manager over that manager and so on.

You do you Elmer's. Applebee's and Sherri's always have great service! The only reason you got a star at all is because I felt bad for the way my mom treated...

Overall the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and our orders came out as requested.

The food was ok. I ordered the veggie omlet with eggwhites and without hollandaise sauce. My husband ordered the farmers omlet with no substiutions. Our daighter had a side of sausage and scrammbled eggs, and shared our biscuts. My husbands omlet was not well blended with the ingredients inside. Mine was good except for the large chunks of veggies, and the biscuts were dry and flavorless.

My main negative, but well deserved, critism is that the hostess seated my family (we have a small toddler) right in thick of the very loud and crowded main dining area. The large 12+ top table next to use was and older group that were already done eating their breakfasts. They continued having loud coversations during the entire length of our meal.

When they did get up to leave, they stood around their table talking for at least 10 more minutes. At one point I had 3 men's rearends directly in my face. It was clearly a group of entitled Corvallis residents / OSU Alumni, and not the expected hungover college students.

This whole ordeal made it very distracting for my daughter to eat. When I spoke to the staff they responded with, "you could've just asked to be reseated." When in all actuality they should have recognized the atmosphere at the time we arrived and seated us elsewhere.

I would have expected the staff to take more pride in their service and company they work for, instead of passing the blame onto the customer.

Needless to say we will not be dining here again. The Albany and Salem locations are worth the drive, customer service, and...

We stayed at the hotel behind it. We were in town on business. We tried the over priced Italian Restaurant the first night, from then on we ate at this place some days 2 or 3 times. They do close at 9pm. The Prime Rib dip is the best I've ever had. Get it with the cheese and grilled onions. We also tried Applebee's and I must say don't waste your time eating anywhere else but here. We are coming back to work this area and we will be eating here again. The owner cares and comes out to check on you. Very nice man who moved to Corvallis from where we live in LA. The Eggs Benedict was AWESOME. You can't go wrong here just wished they were open late. Perfect Place because it all tastes fabulous. They really care because we came in late one night about 9:20 and the owner let us in and cooked us dinner as we had ate there all week. But who else is going to make you a fresh pot of coffee after closing time and bring you a dinner out after close that wasn't rushed together or cold. He is a great owner manager and the Hausbacks will be back when we are in town. You have earned our business when in...
