This is probably the best Chinese restaurant you will find in Oregon. It may be a small family-owned restaurant which will put it under the radar for many people, but this place is a hidden gem. The owners are so nice and I actually feel like I am in China when I am in their restaurant. Their food is authentic and at a very good price. There are lunch options for less than $10 that are extremely delicious and very filling. I have also tried many of their signature dishes and not one has been a miss. If you like spice, there are so many good options. If you like savory, same thing.
Unfortunately for me, I am leaving Oregon soon so I will not be able to enjoy their food as frequently as I have been. As someone who lives in Salem, I have made special trips to visit this restaurant. I recently had my final going-away party before I move away, and I wanted to order their food to take to my party. They were very accommodating and communicative, allowing us to come in early and treating us well while we waited. The food was done in a timely manner and everyone found it absolutely delicious.
Some of my top picks from their menu include, but are not limited to, the Golden Beef Soup, Garlic Pork Ribs, Spicy Garlic Beef/Chicken, and Szechuan Boiled Spicy Beef. They also have the best Orange Chicken I've ever tried if you are interested in that. If you are looking for a frequent place to get consistently good Chinese cuisine, this is it. I have yet to experience better Chinese food, and they have such reasonable prices that I couldn't ever stop myself from visiting whenever I...
Read moreAn okay initial experience.
Was going to spend $30 (prior to Uber discounts) on egg rolls, pot stickers, and a beef dish.
Egg rolls were, and I have noticed this about local places, mushy on the inside (I have to assume this is a preparation and use issue). The pot stickers were great, with a nice chew and good flavor. The beef was very, very chewy and the flavor (which might have been due partially to the sauce) was a bit ‘off’.
The portions were, as expected, large. The rice was, as expected, typical take-out Chinese restaurant rice.
There is another restaurant in town I will likely go to before I go back here. Again, it was okay (hence, three stars). And I will give it another try with some other items at some point (and update my review then).
But, when I am spending (or going to spend) $30 on a meal, I want things to be just a touch better. Large portions don't matter if you end up going, meh.
Obviously, preferences vary. So you might love this place. And,...

We would visit frequently during our college experience and ALWAYS get the Dry Spicy Hot Pot and Szechuan Chicken. Most everything on their menu is delicious and on our last visit they told us that many of the spices they use in their dishes are Chinese imported, which is likely why they had such a unique and positively overwhelming profile to us the first couple times we went.
It is primarily run by three people and they consistently make the best food we’ve had. Their chili oil noodles are handmade, same with many other items on their menu. The food is incredible from the common Chinese American orange chicken type dishes to the more authentic Chinese ones. It’s all phenomenal. They even catered food for our grad party and they gave us a whole free tray of sesame balls because they know how much we enjoy their food.
We will miss going here so so so much. Please...
