This location has almost never let me down. Sure, there was the aggressive worker who would literally mangle your salad with her hands. But I think she was let go. And, sure, there have been off nights where the produce wasn’t in great condition. All in all, though, this location is a good bet when you need Subway.
Speaking of which, who really needs Subway? This is always a choice of necessity. I never go: “Oh, wow! I can’t wait for Subway!!!” I go: “Hmm. What will work tonight?” And, the thing is, this location works. The workers are often friendly, occasionally unique, and almost always on point when it comes to making an order, wrapping it up, ringing you up, and getting you on your way. If you ask them to push past the squishy tomatoes, they will. If they have some slightly browned lettuce, they almost always replace it without you having to ask them to do it. I say all of this as a person who comes in later in the day (though never violating the ’30 minutes before closing’ rule). And, while prices have gone up, they are in keeping with most other places. People moaning about the loss of ‘five dollar foot longs’ are living in a fantasy land where inflation doesn’t exist and the pandemic never happened.
Atmosphere? It is a Subway! Who goes here for atmosphere?!?! I often say that most Subways smell a touch like mop water mixed with yeast. Yeah, it is what it is. But this is not a date night sorta’ place.
Subway. Hmm. There is a lot stacked against it in terms of optics. The franchise model. The scandals. The constant changes, now more to fatten the cow for selling. The turkey-based meat thing. Yeah.
But this one retains a hint of what originally drew people to Subway, before it was crowded out and forced to compete with so many other chains. This owner is doing something right. And, for that, they should...
Read moreUntil today, I hadn't had subway in many years. Today, I ordered a sandwich, and it was very good. The meat didn't taste like it had 2 cups of salt in it (that's a huge plus). The person making my sandwich was nice, but alternated between touching my food and the cash register. I understand time is often in play in all decisions, but basic health and hygiene require a person to finish handling my food before touching the register. I was just shocked to see him touch my food, handle the register, and then handle my food to finish making my sandwich. That is just gross!!! I still gave 5 stars but if I go back, and this happens again, I will change this to a1 star and will never come back. I'm so grossed out over the filthy handling of my food that it will be a long time before I go back. You get the 5 stars because the person was pleasant and the product was decent enough. Train your employees on basic hygiene and food...
Read moreTwo times now I've gone in this store and had to listen to a couple of the food preps making sandwiches making disparaging remarks about customers' decision-making as people are standing right there. Extremely unprofessional. Then, there's supposed to be a first come, first served line but they allowed someone they're familiar with step around me rather than wait the 20 secs to toast my sandwich only to then hold me up waiting for them at the register because he was paying with cash and they didn't have their till stocked. On top of all that, the shredded lettuce in the veggie line all had a slight pink hue to it, so you know its not very fresh. This restaurant needs a good manager to teach some basic operational skills...
