This Denny's has been here for as long as I can remember, but I never went here once. The building looked pretty much the same as I remember it. It hadn't aged much from when I last saw it.
The manager greeted us right as we walked into the door. My boyfriend and I were seated right away. The waitress, Helena, came shortly after. She grabbed our waters for us and came out with the milkshake we ordered a couple minutes after. The service was great at first. Helena took our order and we patiently waited for our food.
The soup came out first and it was delicious! It was piping hot, just like it should be. Our main courses were served to us and we were enjoying our meal. The food was okay. The cheese fries were kind of dry and looked pretty cheap... but the burger and pot roast looked delicious. The taste of the burger and pot roast was just okay though, nothing too special; it was just mediocre. We had finished eating and began to wait for our check.
The busboy came and asked if we were finished and started to take away my boyfriend's plates, however, I had not finished. He was very kind and polite. We waited for our checks for over 20 minutes and eventually we resorted to waving the manager over and asking for our check. He apologized and said he would get the check right away. We waited for another 15 minutes and our check never came, but we saw him serving other people across the room that came in after us and giving them their check. To be honest, I was livid by then. I had luckily waved over another waitress and she helped us with our request. She gave us our check and we were ready to pay; however, no one came to grab the money?? So, by then I just wanted to storm out. We gathered our belongings and took our check to the front, paid, and left right away.
Out of everyone who served us, I think the busboy provided the best service. He actually came over and asked if everything was going well while we were eating. He asked if we had finished eating, but by then I was still eating, so I said no, but the gesture was greatly appreciated. The waitress, Helena, never came back to our table after taking our orders. It wasn't even her that gave us our food. The manager never helped us out and took priority over people that came in after us. He just forgot about us. I don't think it's worth coming here other than to get a quick bite late at night. The only pro about this place is that...
Read moreFood was Denny's food, I actually got something different (grilled chicken breast burger, never did the grilled before) and the grilled chicken was really good. However, this is not the point of today's message.
I live close to this location, and my wife and I will stop in later in the evening due to our schedules. We've had a lot of iffy experiences here, and I've more than once walked out due to poor service (and watching the manager on duty just act like she's lost in space when there's one server for 8+ tables).
Last night, same manager was on duty and we were 50/50 on even trying to stay but decided to sit anyway. Well, glad we did! The server, Stratton, had at least 6 tables, two of which were fairly large, and was running around like crazy. However, unlike the other server girl there (no idea her name, we had to walk out on her twice) he was unable to get to us for a bit, but still gave us eye contact and kept us in the loop. We're patient people, so we're good with at least just getting acknowledged.
Took a little time, not a big deal, but Stratton for being as busy as he was, was on point. Kept up on drinks, checked in on us during the wait for our food, and was just cheerful as could be despite looking like he was running a marathon.
This review is specifically for the great service, great personality, and overall tenacity he showed in light of being alone and having a manager basically sit with a thumb up her butt not helping,
Stratton singlehandedly restored my faith in this location, so I hope people that matter at Denny's see this and give him the kudos he deserves for representing the company in such a...
Read moreGood food but it was cold & we waited over 2 hours for our food although we thought it was weird there was only 5-7 people dining in & we had called in our order for pick up & it still wasn't ready 2 hours after we got there. Then we finally got it went back to our hotel 1 block up & it was cold & we were missing 1 child & 1 adult entree & all 4 desserts. (Yes we asked if was all there) they had everything so tightly put in the bag we would have had to rip it to check. (I wish i had but we were a bit annoyed by the already 45 minutes they said before it was ready & over 2 hours waiting inside for it!) We had to go back to get it but they made us come in once again to get it & never apologized for the cold food, missing food & long wait!!! They never should have asked for a tip & they should have done the right thing by giving us back our money atleast for the 2 cold entrees. My husband said we should have been given all of it back minus the tip & I'm now thinking how right he was... we just made sure not to go there again once our loft waa finished up the road! What is the point of them having the option to order by phone & a pick up parking stall?? Our neighbors said they had many issues at that location too. I hope by now things have turned around for the...
