Went for dinner, waited ten minutes in drive thru line to order. Finally ordered, and asked for chili fries. I was informed that they were out of the to go containers that they normally make the chili fries in, and if I wanted them they had to be separated and I said no problem. I order the rest of my food, a California style double meal with mountain dew and a grilled chicken sandwich and two more mountain dews and she tells me the total, and I say you forgot the 2 chili cheese fries. She says oh you want them? I say yes again, and she puts them on there. At this point all is correct on the screen. I pull up to the window, and she hands me a mountain dew. She tells me oh we are outt straws so we have bendy ones, and proceeds to put the box out the window for me to grab one. I think she is going back into the window for the other two mountain dews, except she doesnt. I then wait another near 10 minutes for food. Finally she brings it to the window, shoves it out and says have a nice day. So i tell her, you forgot two mountain dews, she says oh, goes and grabs another and says you already got two right? I say no you handed me one, so she goes back and grabs another. I finally have bag of food and my three dews, and drive off. We get about three blocks, and my daughter, who is checking thru the bag says dad they forgot a fry....sigh. So after not checking the ticket for the sodas, they also decided not to check for all the food. The easiest part of working in a fast food restaurant is checking the bag to make sure all the items are in it before you send it out the window and you guys cant even do that. If this was the 1st time this had happened I wouldn't have written a review. This happens dam near every single time I go there, So my review is a warning for anyone else that doesn't want their time wasted when they go out to...
Read moreWeâve been longtime fans of Freddyâs and have sung the praises of the Council Bluffs location since it opened. Unfortunately, it seems like Freddyâs is going through a bit of a mid-life crisis latelyâstill capable of greatness, but in desperate need of a pep talk (and a cleaning crew).
We planned to dine in with the fam, but were promptly greeted by a scavenger hunt for a clean table. Spoiler alert: we lost. Not a single booth or table was clean. This was around 5 PMânot exactly rush hourâso the lack of cleanup was a head-scratcher.
Plan B: the drive-thru. The order was big, and to their credit, they got it mostly right. The cheeseburgers were solid, but the fries were colder than a Midwestern February, and one sandwich came cheesed when it was supposed to be un-cheesed. Also, the Dr. Pepper was so watered down, we checked the label to see if it was âEssence of Dr. Pepper.â
The service was...memorable, but not in a good way. The drive-thru employee was friendly enough while taking our order, but once we got to the window, we were treated to a one-man show called "Trainer of the Front End, Speaker of Few Words." He took our gift card with a dramatic âI hope this works todayâ and said nothing else, choosing instead to chat with his supervisor while ignoring us completely. After a long wait, he leaned out the window and whispered, like a fast food spy, âIâm not supposed to do this, but pull up by the trash can and Iâll bring it out.â
Listen, nothing says fine dining like being told to wait next to the dumpster.
We genuinely want to keep loving Freddyâs. The food still has potential, but the slip in service and the dirty dining room situation are hard to overlook. Hereâs hoping management can turn things aroundâweâll gladly be...
Read moreThis was my first visit in years. Unfortunately all this visit did was remind me of why my family does not frequent here. We arrived around 4PM on a Friday. This is well after what would be expected for a lunch rush and before the dinner service is getting ramped up. There appeared to be ample staff throughout the building, however there was not a single clean booth in the facility. There was as much food scattered on the floor in the dining area as there was on the trays we recieved. During our entire experience there was no attention giving to the dining room. There were only our table of 3 and another table with two persons who also had to clean thier own table. During our visit, staff were in and out of the building to smoke cigarettes in full view of the dining area, yet nobody could run a towel over the tables or sweep the dining room. The food wasnt horrible. It wasnt memorable, but it was edible. Unfortunately, when the facility is as unclean as this one was and the staff and management dont seem to notice or even care, you have to wonder about the sanitation in the kitchen. The parking area and dining room are the first impression a customer gets when visiting this establishment. In this case the impression was less than desirable. We will not be back.**UPDATE- Contacted the company using the information provided in the company response as it clearly stated that they would want to hear more about my experience. Clearly they do not as I have never heard anything back in over a week. Perhaps the canned answer should be changed. No longer interested in providing constructive feedback, will simply take my...
