Oh Georgie, how I really wanted to like you... I really only wanted to give you 3.5 stars..
Came in here on a week day night because I was really craving Mediterranean food. It wasn't too crowded, there was probably only two tables eating. And a family of 4 who ordered before me. Georgie's has an open kitchen which you can see everything is made to order. They also have a variety of sides displayed, so you can pick and choose what you want.
The chicken shawarma wrap was really simple but really good. (They don't do the stuffed wraps anymore unfortunately :/ ) Anyways, the wrap came with very flavorful chicken, slightly on the dry side, garlic sauce, pickles. It was very simple, but very yummy. Not to mention the cashier was very nice as well!
But the wait... Oh my goodness gracious. It took about 45 minutes to get wrap. There was only one man manning the grill. But 4 other people were in the kitchen. I don't know what went on... But I even got my food before the poor family of 4 before me. I think they'd be better if they were more effective in the kitchen and served their customers a little faster. Other than that, I don't have any other negatives. Maybe I'll come back when there's no one else in the store. Maybe the wait will be less than 45...
Read moreGeorgie’s Mediterranean Cuisine offers a cozy, casual dining experience with a menu full of classic Mediterranean staples. On my recent visit, the overall experience was decent, though nothing particularly stood out. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was warm with traditional touches that made the space feel inviting.
The food, however, was just okay. I tried the chicken shawarma plate, which came with rice, hummus, salad, and pita bread. The chicken was well-seasoned but slightly dry, and the rice lacked the fluffy texture and flavor I was hoping for. The hummus was smooth and creamy, but a bit under-seasoned for my taste. The salad was fresh, but the dressing didn’t add much. I also sampled the falafel, which was crisp on the outside but slightly dense inside.
One highlight was the warm, freshly baked pita — it paired nicely with the hummus and helped elevate the overall meal. While Georgie’s isn’t a place I’d rush back to, it’s a solid option if you’re in the area and craving Mediterranean food. With a few improvements to seasoning and preparation, this place has the potential to be a local favorite. For now, it’s a decent spot that delivers an average but...
Read moreI'm gonna give it a 1 star because the food is great but the wait time needs exponential improvement. I get and agree with their mojo about great food takes time to prepare. My problem with them is that they lied to you about the wait time on phone orders by saying 25 to 30 min and when you get there 25 minutes after they say it's gonna be another 10 minutes and I say ok only for them to come back 7 mins after and say if I want to substitute the rice for other side. I say no to the cashier she then goes to talk to the cook and they have a silent discussion. 5 minutes after they come and say another 7 minutes. Yes, this actually happened, it was uncomfortable and ridiculous. I decided to cancel the order and the cashier seems a bit dumbfounded that I actually asked for a refund. Another gentleman was there before and commented to me that "it's taking forever". The cashier tried to get him to substitute rice for something else as well
I speculate that they stop making rice at one point in the night and try to convince people to sub sides. As customers, Georgies owes us the courtesy of being factual about the wait time and tell us if rice is even available to begin with...
