For years, we have enjoyed meals and the music at Millie's. Today, we had a horrible experience that no customer should ever have to go through. The owner was extremely rude to us, and wouldn't let us express our opinion until we insisted. This is no way to run a business! (summary version of our experience)
After waiting about 20 minutes for our breakfast, the food was room temperature, definitely not hot or even warm. It must have been sitting there quite a while after being cooked. My guest complained, asked for it to be taken away and off the bill, which they did. The waitress apologized and offered to bring something else, but we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. I ate part of mine, which also was room temperature and not enjoyable. I took the rest home, but wish I had also sent mine back.
The worst part was when we were paying at the counter. Armando was at the cash register and we were told that he is the owner. My guest mentioned the food being cold. Instead of apologizing, Armando essentially called him a liar. He said that the food wasn't cold because he checked it and was saying other rude remarks while raising his voice. I had to insist in order to say my opinion. I said that I am a customer and have a right to speak. Also, I asked why he was acting like that. His behavior is especially appalling because he has scripture on his menus and website. He certainly was not demonstrating the attitude of Christ. This is a bad witness to others.
I said that the food wasn't cold, but was barely warm (room temperature would be more accurate, actually). His reaction was one of gritting his teeth, not caring about what our opinion was. At one point, I started to say that at other restaurants, the food is hot when it's served (if it's cooked and not a salad, etc.). He wouldn't let me finish and cut me off. I wasn't saying that much or taking too long at all--he just didn't care.
My guest noticed that some other guests had ordered and walked out before being served because it was taking too long.
Obviously, they lost 2 of their...
Read moreIt had been awhile since I had gone to Millie's, last time there it was in dire need of facelift, booths and chairs were worn the carpet seemed used Etc, this time it was quite impressive clean, upholstery was redone, tables and chairs looked fresh and much newer as I said it had been a while since I've gone there. We ordered 2 avocado turkey sandwiches which I will say we're quite flavorful with good portions on the turkey & avocado, 1 order was with fruit the other with salad & dressing ordered on the SIDE! when it came the dressing was poured all over the top of the salad we were very clear on having it separate and on the side of the salad, my wife ordered a sandwich with fries needless to say she was completely done with her meal before the fries came and that was after telling the waitress a second time then I asked her the THIRD time, I had to flag her down, she finally did bring the fries much later, my wife was done with her sandwich also we never saw the waitress (as stated "flagged" her) she never checked on us after the food had been brought to us or we would have brought this to her attention earlier, again, it was lunch time but isn't this the time you're supposed to beef up service because of the rush for lunch!? the server was polite and courteous just very forgetful and even though she wrote things down it didn't get done or remind her what and how to bring our food. Because of the quality of food I will try this establishment one more time, and recommend if you go try their turkey avocado sandwich approximately $9.99 I believe. FYI for those ADA folks like myself, access is good, roomy & you have the option of booths or tables I did not check...
Read moreMy friend and I stopped in for lunch. We due our errand runs together as she is handicapped and dosen't drive. (twice a month I make the hour and a half drive to her house to take her shopping).
The service was very good as was the food and the music was everything from Patsy Cline to Tony Bennett to the Carpenters, and many more.
We were seated right away with menus and as we passed the waitress to sit down she acknowledged us and told us she would be right with us.
Within 5 minutes she came to our table asked what how we were and what would we like to drink.
Within about 5 minutes or so, she returned with our drinks and gave us the few extra minutes we needed to look at the menus before she returned.
We then placed our order and my friend and I continued our conversation to catch up on the planning of getting our errands completed for the day.
Our food arrived on time, hot and cooked just right. It was very Very good and filling.
We even ordered desert which we normally don't not due. However, when we saw the huge sundae being served at another table we could not resist. 😀 Oh and their pies are delicious too!
The extra napkins we requested and our glasses of water arrived at the same time as our food.
