The Depot Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Covington

Years ago when I was heavy on the bike scene I use to go here often. I just recently started back going on average once a week. I'm use to some consistencies like average food & just ok customer service but did not expect the level of racism I received last night. I went outside on the patio to have a smoke. I was the only person of color outside but definitely was not bothered. While sitting there a goup was having a conversation about bike riders. A person made a comment that "Only the N word rides sports bikes." I've never been so appalled at a statement being made in my presence. I responded quickly by saying "I'm a N word that rides a Harley Sir!"What was more appalling is that no one in the group apologized. I threw my cigarette away and walked back in to the bathroom to gather my composure and returned to the bar to tell my friend what had occured. It took everything me to hold my friend back from going to address the issue. Shameful how this level of racisim was said and accepted by others in this day and time. So I'm not from around this area or Georgia for that matter. Here for my job and had some down time. Was looking for a place to hang out meet people and have some drinks. Well I Googledl searched the area and didn't really find anything appealing to me. Then I saw this spot on the map. Looked like some where I'd hang out back home. Anyways I went to check it out. It was a cool spot. Everyone there was friendly to me and I met some nice cool people from the area. The music was good they had music bingo the night I went that was fun. I also won a round haha so that was a plus. They gave me a gift card to spend in the bar. Score! They had pool tables and people were playing. The beers were cold and reasonably priced. I ordered an appetizer that was good and plenty for just me, was enough for a few ppl to share. The other food looked good from what I saw others ordering. The staff was very nice and took care of me. I'd definitely go back if I wasn't working nights out here. But if I have some down time I'll go back. Everything here is delicious. For food, try the Buffalo Mac, you won’t be disappointed! You can pick whatever sauce you want on the boneless wings. We found out that items that aren’t really on the menu can still be customized. For example, the Philly cheese steak can be made on top of the fries if you don’t like bread. The drinks are consistently good as well and the bar has a wide selection. One of the popular things is something called a Nerd Shot. It tastes like candy! The vibe is fun and the staff is cool.
