The food is just ok for your typical American sushi. Definitely not the best in terms of AYCE sushi (far from it), but it's probably the best you can get in the Seattle area, as AYCE sushi doesn't seem to be a thing here.
They're so busy, especially with to-go orders, that they restrict their AYCE bar, so they may accommodate online orders & regular, non AYCE dining.
So with that said, if they're busy, don't expect great service, as you'll get neglected quite a bit. We were also asked to only order one roll at a time, as they were too busy to take/make two rolls at once, as it was clear that online orders were more important than dine in; I heard a server asking about a table's order 3 times & was heavily delayed due to online orders.
And the hostess was ignorantly rude, as if she's never interacted with someone at a restaurant before.
We made a reservation, but got there 20 minutes earlier than expected & asked if it's possible to be sat early. I was told that it'd be a 20 minute wait...
Shift change, and NOW we have the rude hostess. As time goes by, I see the entire back side of the AYCE bar seems to be vacant, but they weren't seating anyone there initially OK, no worries.
But then shortly after, two people leave from the front side, where there was an open seat between them & the couple adjacent to them. More & more people are coming & starting to get worried that this other hostess doesn't know why we're there & she might give away our seat (she keeps passing by us & not saying anything).
About 15 minutes go by & the seats have already been bussed for 5 minutes. So I approach the hostess that's been ignoring us this whole time & tell her that we're next for the bar, in case she wasn't informed by the original hostess & inadvertently gives away our seats that's been vacant for 15 plus minutes. Her reply: "I know." And walks away. Awesome. And this is actually one of the better Trappers. Or...
Read moreI stopped in the Covington location to get takeout around 7:30pm on a Monday night. I am a longtime Trappers customer but have not eaten at this location for a long time. I have always gotten the smurf roll and the cryssi roll. I ordered both this time. I waited at least 30 minutes and the place was not busy. Just a few tables occupied and a few people at the counter. I could tell the servers were getting annoyed that the food was taking so long. I should have looked at my order before i left. I was extremely disappointed when I got home. I should have taken a photo but I was tired and hungry. The smurf roll was about half the diameter than usual with only avocado on top instead down the sides The mushrooms in the middle were very tiny and the roll was dry. the roll was barely squirted with some chili sauce. No garlic sauce or teriyaki sauce. It had zero flavor. The cryssi roll was larger in diameter mostly because there was a large piece of raw zucchini in the middle. There were only tiny little pieces of mushroom and most of the pieces were stems. I had to pull one out to investigate what it was. Again, just chili sauce barely drizzled on it and no garlic or teriyaki sauce. i was so disappointed . These 2 rolls and a side of edamame was $32. I will never go to this...

SO SAD !!! Last weekend waited 35 minutes for a table thankfully got seated . Watched three different groups of customers from about 8:20-8:30pm on , get turned away. Tonight we Actually made reservations online for 745 pm , got seated right away only to sit without any recognition for over 20 minutes.( no water , no hello, no eye contact from anyone of staff ) We were being patient because of staffing, Covid residual Etc whatever the reason. To then watch another group get seated, given water instantly and the trigger their waitress was taking their order as we watched . There were 2 other families in our situation as far as timing from being seated . We got up and walked out. Sad because we like their sushi but with other just as good options around we will not return to the Covington Trappers, Bad Business. Sumo Sushi , Maple Valley for the...
