Provecho CaliMex, a family owned restaurant that started off at the farmers market by Marina Del Rey. Here’s the break down.
Environment:
Provecho CaliMex is very welcoming. Right upon entering I was greeted by the owner and his daughters, which we talked and was told that new items will be coming to the menu. He offered us a cafe de olla latte to taste, on the house, which was extremely nice of him. He cares about his customers and stands highly for the quality of food at Provecho CaliMex. This instance, established a solid reputation.
Food & Drinks:
The highlights are the asada quesadilla, tacos, french toast, agua frescas, and café de ollá latte. The asada quesadilla was delicious, inside was grilled asada, guacamole and melted cheese, which allowed for each bite to be savory and delicious. The agua frescas that I’ve tried over the past couple of visits were the maracuya lemonade and the dragon fruit lemonade, which were delicious, refreshing, and not diluted. Lastly, the cafe de olla latte was something else, my partner described it as a drink that an abuela would make. I would translate that to, a hot drink that really does bring in the notes and elements of a traditional cafe de olla.
Overall:
Provecho CaliMex is an awesome spot. The food served is of generous size, and will easily satisfy and fill you up. I will continue to return and try out different menu items.
If you’re reading up to this point, I tend to leave crumbs for the readers. If you’re debating between the burrito or quesadilla, go with the quesadilla… thank me later. Agua frescas are rotated weekly I believe, the last time I went, there were different options such as the dragon fruit lemonade and the maracuya lemonade was not available. The favorite items from what I recall are the quesadilla, tacos, torta, chilaquiles, breakfast torta, and agua frescas. Lastly, parking will be available along the streets, park by the liquor store...
Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of having Provecho Calimex Catering cater my daughter’s Sweet 16, and they truly exceeded all expectations! The chef, an Oaxacan genius, expertly combined authentic Mexican flavors with a Cali twist, creating dishes that were simply unforgettable.
They served Barbacoa, Carnitas, and the standout Cilantro Pesto Pasta, a delicious fusion that had everyone coming back for seconds. My daughter loves American, Italian, and Mexican food, so we chose to have Provecho Calimex handle the Mexican side of things—and they knocked it out of the park!
They also made two refreshing Agua Frescas: Strawberry Lemonade and Watermelon, which were the perfect, cool complement to the meal.
What really impressed me was their punctuality and professionalism. They made a seamless, on-time drop-off all the way from Culver City to Upland, which wasn’t an easy task, especially with two caterers to juggle that day. Despite the logistics, they arrived on time, fully prepared, and everything was perfect.
The team at Provecho Calimex was friendly, accommodating, and delivered an experience our guests are still talking about. If you want a caterer that brings both flavor and exceptional service, Provecho Calimex Catering is the one! I can’t wait to book them for...
Read moreMy first visit was a few days ago saw the 5.0 stars on Google and had to try.
Day 1 I was greeted by some locals who told me the food was great, and I loved the welcoming vibe. I got 5 tacos, chilaquiles(red sauce with asada), and a torta(with asada). Everything was so good. Personally loved the torta and chilaquiles. My partner moved the tacos so you can say all the food was great.
Day2 I visited on the weekend, wanted something before dinner. We got the chilaquiles(red sauce, asada) and shared. Just as good as last time. I also added the strawberry passionfruit agua de fresa, and it was delightful!! We were told the drink used agave to give the sweetness and loved it more.
I know I will be visiting more and love the food! Hope more people visit the...
