Frida's Mexican Restaurant - Cumming — Restaurant in Cumming

This was only my second time at this establishment and I had a rather unsatisfactory visit.

After getting my taco order wrong, I was offered to have them remade or bring the shells out for me. I accepted the latter naively as I didn’t want to make a fuss, those two taco rebuilds are on me.

However, both I and my girlfriend realized we were also missing requested toppings (cheese and lettuce) and upon our waitress returning we requested our items. Waitress heads to the back, comes out again shortly telling us we can not add cheese or lettuce to our orders, odd as my prior visit they allowed me to add cheese and lettuce and so I pointed this out to her. Cue another visit to the back, and eventually our cheese served on a hefty platter (but no lettuce!) for us to add to our tacos ourself

If you’re keeping track that’s 2 wrong taco shells, 4 sets of missing ingredients, and of course a strange interaction where I was told I couldn’t have cheese, then that I could if I paid for it.

Here’s my point, at $4 a taco I shouldn’t have to build it, have basic ingredients brought out to me because the kitchen staff messed up, and deal with watching my food and my partners food get cold in front of me as all that goes down. For the level of service I received and the amount I paid I may as well have stayed at home.

By the way, our waitress was great, food was delicious if cold, but having only visited twice this left a sour taste...

While the food was good, I was very disappointed with the lack of involvement of any management whatsoever. We were seated quickly and got chips and salsa immediately, but 5 minutes later, nobody has come to get drink orders. Several staff are standing nearby. I have to get up to inform them that nobody has served us. Come to find out, our server's section changed and he did not realize it was his table. Fair enough. Later, as our food is being put on table, another staff member hits our child's drink spilling it all over my husband. He cleans it quickly, and gets us another. I used to wait tables, and I know things happen, but no manager was ever sent to us, and nothing was compensated on our bill. To make matters worse, we were not told when we order our kids' apple juices that they were not included with the kids meal, and three of them cost us almost six dollars. If you are wondering why I did not fight it, it was because I was already in the van with the kids, and my husband knew if he did, he would have blown up. Food is pretty good but this place has a lot to learn about customer service. My family and I visited on a Sunday night so it was not overly busy.

There were many employees simply standing around not doing much of anything. It still took close to 10 minutes before anybody even came to take drink orders. We were near the kitchen door so we were passed often without a second glance.

Later, when our food did come, the server spilled my kids drink all over the table and myself. My jeans were quite soaked with apple juice. No manager came to apologize or even offer remediation.

When the bill was provided, we were charged extra for the 3 kids apple juices despite ordering kids meals that came with a drink. Come to find out that apple juice isn't one of the kids meal drinks. It may or may not be mentioned on the menu, if it is, neither my wife nor I saw it. Regardless, our waiter never said it would be extra as she should have.
