Long story, and it's not good. I walked in on Saturday requesting if they fix Ipad 12.9 Pro 1st Gen. The gentleman at the counter saw my ipad, we discussed what I needed and he went to the back, discussed it with someone and came back and immediately gave me options. leave it there, and it would take5-7 business days, a total of about $175 give or take. Buy the battery I need online because it may be quicker, and bring in with the battery when it comes in the mail. Only Labor, it would be roughly about $75 Take it to the apple store and have them fix it (much more expensive) or have them sell you a battery (may take up to 3 days). I asked him once I brought the ipad in, what the turnaround for this kind of service would be. he answered best case-same day. worst case 3-4 days. I went home and purchased a battery on Amazon for $50, Plus rush delivery, total of $60. Today I went in early, as I do have urgency in fixing the ipad. Immediately the guy in the counter (different one) goes to the back. I hear some back and forth and the "Lead Tablet Tech" tells me he hates working on these. That they are too difficult and he's afraid to damage it. He adds that they don't fix these laptops there because it is too hard. So I am upset, but tell him I appreciate the honesty (although 3 days late), that I'd rather he say that than ruin my ipad. I ask for solutions, since now I am out $60 and 3 days without my work tablet. The second gentleman goes to the back for about 15 mins to talk to the "owner". He comes back and says to make up for my inconvenience they will send it to a store that CAN do it, and it will take 1-3 days. (bummer). The price? $200 DOLLARS. with the battery i bought!!!! Now I haver a battery i can't use and an ipad that has no battery because these unprofessional "Techs" in this store have no idea what their business can or can not do, and how much it will cost. Oh by the way. There was another customer there, very kindly telling them she wanted to cancel her Asurion home suscription because they have not helped her once and their customer service sucks. Their answer? Yeah- we hate selling it. they are horrible. you have to call them to cancel yourself. lady says; but I bought it from you. your salesman pushed it. them: ...yeah. they suck. Hopefully this is a warning to all potential clients needing to get something fixed here. They push things they don't agree with and make us customers go through hoops to help...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATED review: I am satisfied with the professionalism of the Owner of uBreakiFix, for taking the time to reach out to me about my childās malfunctioning phone after it was repaired here. He made sure to clear up the confusion,(replied to review w: contact info), and ensured that my childās phone would be fixed, or no pay. (Which is kinda what you expect when you spend $ to get a service done). I believe there may have been a bit of miscommunication with the employee,(the Owner told me this is a new stores for him), I was able to drop my childās phone off again, and the glitchy screen was replaced within less than 30 minutes. Itās been 24 hrs& it seems to be working well now, hopefully it stays functioning: šThank you, to the owner of uBreakiFix Cutler Bay, for your professionalism & your striving to ensure that the service was good & that my childās phone is back to working conditions, it was very important for us as a family we use our phones daily for safety & to communicate, is a necessity nowadays. āāāāāāāāāāāā- ā ļøDo NOT bring phones here for WATER DAMAGEā ļø You will be told you have a 50/50 chance, phone will work for a week and flop. ā ļø Photos Attached NOTE: I truly hate to do this, as the guy was nice, but nice doesnāt get my daughters phone repaired. Nice doesnāt bring back my hard earned $300 that was spent here with the intention of getting the phone back to working conditions.Things are way too expensive rn to be wasting $300, idc how much $ you are; nobody wants to waste $300. this is why iām doing this, to warn the other hard working parents. I was told it would be best to replace the screen, amongst a few other things, and since of course, as a Mother who needs to be in communication with her child, before and after school, i spent that $300 with the intention of believing my daughters phone would be in working conditions again. My daughters phone has gotten worse by the day. You are better off spending that $300 towards a brand new phone! I recall being told the face ID feature would no longer work even after being repaired, but i was ok with that, but had i had known that the entire screen would black out, glitch out, etc, i wouldāve never spent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBe careful coming here, I brought my phone because the screen was damaged and they told me that somehow after fixing the screen the camera stopped working (even though it was working fine before) and they would potentially need to replace it, but were going to try other methods first to try to make it work. The next day, I receive an email saying the phone is ready for pick up.
When I arrive I'm told they had to replace the camera and I would need to be charged for it. I obviously refused because I didn't approve the repair and nobody even spoke to me about it. The guy I assume was the manager did apologize and didnt charge me for it. I could be wrong but it felt like they were trying to scam me.
The actual screen repair came out very good. Good repair services but theyre sketchy, have your eyes peeled coming in here.
Edit: less than a year after the fix, while under warranty, my screen started to develop a growing circle of dead pixels around the camera lens which eventually stopped at about a 1 inch oval of black dead pixels. Didn't take my phone back for repair because, honestly, I'd rather have the defect than have these crooks work on my phone again. Dropping to 1 star. Go to a...
