Subway — Restaurant in Cutler Bay

Terrible luck with their Sunday special [meatball sandwich]. August 14, went in for meatball sandwich and there were no meatballs at 20521 Old Cutler Road. August 21, called ahead. They had meatballs but could not toast the bread ... the toaster is broken and I like my bread toasted before the meatballs are placed on the bread, and a second time after the meatballs and cheese are on the bread. Counter person offered microwave. I like toaster because it puts a crust on the bread - microwave just makes it soggy, and that's what I don't want. Two Sunday's in a row and they cannot serve the Sunday special. Would go to nearby Subway but, last visit, no one spoke English and counter person wrecked my order. Will substitute a thin pizza with onion, red pepper, mushroom, pepperoni and extra cheese at home. Would have rated my experience 0 because that is how many meatball sandwiches I have gotten on the special menu in two weeks; there is no 0 option. If you are looking forward to one menu item, call ahead and check out the food availability, whether the equipment is working, and if someone is there who speaks English. Three of my last four Subway visits have been an absolute bust. There is a nearby Publix Food Store that has a full deli counter, English is never a problem, and there are hot meal options. Unfortunately, they do not have meat balls or I would never step into a Subway. At this rate, with missing menu items, broken equipment and non-English speakers, Subway can lock...

I’ve been going to this place for 7 yrs now, and it’s been going downhill every year. I went tonight for a Philly cheesesteak. The one employee told me there was no Parmesan bread, so I settled for white. The veggie toppings looked slimy and bad. I should have taken a picture. I asked the employee what’s up with that, and he said it’s old vegetables mixed with new, and that they can’t lose money on wasted food. I told him that it’s looks really bad and that someone could get sick. He responded, “yea, but we throw it out at the end of the day”. He made no sense, and needless to say I removed the spoiled veggies from my cold sandwich when I got home 5 minutes later. I was really hungry, so I ate the dam thing.which I’m now regretting. . Nasty! Very slow service. If 5 people are in line it can take 45 mins - 1 hr to get your food. This is why subway will go our of business soon. The sandwich maker behind the counter was very rude. I had a sub coupon for BOGO free. She called her manager and argued with her loudly in Spanish for 5 minutes that a wrap is not a sub. 2 customers left because, they got tired of waiting. The rack with chips on it fell off twice. Then she short changed a customer .03 cents and she got a nasty look on her face when her mistakes was pointed out. The sign outside was broken and not on. The seating area was cramped with chairs and trays everywhere. There was a meatball sub just sitting out, next to the serving line, shoved in the corner. Nasty! I will never go back...
