TKS Mediterranean — Restaurant in Cypress

Visited on their soft launch yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The place was pretty busy with customers walking in constantly to try out the new place. There are 2 self ordering stations which is great if you dont want to stand in a line. Since we had questions, we ordered through their counter. Angel was able to answer questions for us and was friendly. We ordered the chicken platter with saffron rice and falafel and my husband ordered the kofta kabab wrap. The food was delicious and with generous quantities. Saffron rice had a strong saffron taste but not to the point where you would not like it. Love the fact that the sauces are unlimited use and multiple options to chose from.

My only complaint was that the rice was very room temperature and not hot. It did take 20 minutes for the food to come out. They grill the meat fresh and it was busy so understandable. Falafel was average but definitely hot and fried fresh.

I do wish that they would have kept samples for the shawarma meat (chicken and lamb) for the soft opening. It would have added a good touch. We just moved to the area and were so excited to try out TKS since we have heard great things about it. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We ordered togo and several things were wrong with our order.

Bowl #1: Paid an extra $1 for Feta (which is ridiculous) and only got the tiniest sprinkle of feta. NOT worth an extra $1. They gave us the wrong hummus (which also was an extra $1 up charge). AND completely forgot the OG Yogurt sauce that comes with the bowl.

Bowl #2: Again, forgot the OG Yogurt Sauce and did not add the grilled veggies that was another $1 up charge.

I went for the first time after a very long day and a hard workout in the gym. I didn't feel like cooking when I got home so I stopped here. It was late they were about to close but graciously took my order. I got the steak bowl with saffron rice and it was one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a long time. The steak was very tender and very flavorful. And the rice was so delicious and all the sauces and other components together all complimented each other.
