Yes, Becks Prime is a bit pricy (+$10 for just a hamburger), but I think it's a 'worth-it' splurge for the amount you get and the flavor.
While I'm a new fan (I've only eaten here once - so far -), it's easy to see why they get so many glowing reviews. Their food (well the burger and fries I had) tastes awesome, the restaurant was very clean (on my visit), and the service was incredibly courteous/helpful/quick (especially for the quality of food you're getting).
And while I absolutely love what Beck's Prime and the staff are doing there, I've got to admit, I'm not really sure of what this restaurant is trying to do... let me explain.
This place offers sandwiches, salads, premium burgers, and even hot dogs, but those hot dogs are quartered (longways) and put on a hamburger bun... ok. Also, they sell various cuts of prime steak at prices above $30, but you order and pay for it at a counter or through a drive thru (yes, drive thru steak) like a fast food restaurant... mmm...ok. This restaurant is called Becks Prime (which sounds like a steakhouse to me), but their menu is mostly burger related... alright. And I haven't even gotten to how this place sells liquor/wine beverages without a bar (order at the counter), so while I applaud them on trying something new it's also very, very unique to what I'd expect most people (including myself) are familiar with.
But please, don't let my confusion be a deterrent to you going to this place. I think Becks Prime is completely worth anyone's time and money to try. And if the rest of their menu is half as good as that simple hamburger and fries I had, I can say with confidence that you're bound to...
Read moreFirst time trying this place. Showed up Friday afternoon around 3pm. Parking lot is connected to a bank and 7 Eleven. Lots of ways to access. Met the staff who were instantly friendly and happy to explain their menu and the process. They provided recommendations and explanation of the menu items and the portions. We are a party of 3 so we ordered the BLT, Bill's Burger and the Regular burger. No charges to how they were made other than cook temp and one preference for no onions. Ordered the sweet potato fries and truffle fries to share. Bills burger is the top rated burger in atexas monthly. Staff took our order and brought out the food about ten minutes later. Not a long wait. The burgers are good size patty. Manager and team told us the burgers are cooked over a wood fire. It shows. The grease was non-existent. The flavor was great! The seasoning and sauce were on point. The BLT came with 12 slices of bacon and it was a good tasty bite every time. Once I started my burger I couldn't stop eating. The fries they served with house sauce, ranch, ketchup, honey mustard on the side to trycause we were not certain what was best. All the sauces worked with the fries. No leftovers. The staff asked how we liked the food. Nothing but great flavor in everything and the portions were just as amazing. I forgot to take a picture but I would go back to take one next time. If younwant a great burger or something else on their menu go their. I'd recommend. I am going back to try something else...
Read moreI smell smoke. Not the alarming, something's on fire, dangerous smoke. The something has been cooking for the past 8 hours smoke. On a day like today there's only one reason for that: Beck's Prime. I'm greeted by decor that's after my own heart: a wooden theme interior reminiscent of my old bachelor pad. Many shades of red, black, and brown.
I order the Bubba Burger and a Butterfinger shake. I take my shake to the table and it doesn't even come up the straw. Perfect. This is a real shake. I begin to tale notes and my burger comes out of the kitchen. That's incredibly fast for the quality I'm expecting.
I can already smell the smoke from my sandwich. I spent some time working at a barbecue pit when I was younger. The smell was the same. It's mesquite. One bite and I'm reminded of long summers working with good friends. I'm also reminded of the fact that it's been a while since I've had a burger that's been near trees. The egg bun stands against the tides of beef tallow that escape my patty. The patty is perfectly grilled. The BP sauce pulls the onions and tomatoes together with the patty to make a sublime flavor combination.
At 16 dollars for just the sandwich and shake, I would make some room in your wallet before dropping by but this stop would absolutely be worth it. A good place to fill up, especially if you're in a hurry. 5/5 in and out of class.
