I was enticed by the offer of free queso to give a five star before realizing the mistake I made. After the server asked us repeatedly to give them the review we were then served our free queso and after tasting it I realized why they give it out free. Not very thick, tasty, and resembled canned ball park cheese. Very disappointed and the gesture by the quality of food. The service was subpar for a Monday night that was not at all busy. 1 friend waited 20 minutes to get a coke and the other never even received their sprite. When our alcoholic drinks were delivered to the table, our waitress who took our order seemed lost as to who ordered the drinks and brought 1 extra drink to the table which was soon scooped up after realizing the error. Also the ID system seems seems rather invasive and untrusting as our whole friend groups I.D were gathered and inspected rigorously, taken to the computer for another inspection and swiped, and then finally brought back to us like we were some 17 year old tweens trying to grab our first drink at a bar. Then comes the food and our order. After waiting for a much longer wait than we would ever expect for a Monday night five minutes before our food hit the table the server informs us that they do not have enough food tamales to fill both of my friend order and we would have to choose who would have to re order and who would have to change their order. When the food finally comes out it was on par with the first part of our experience. Not very good. Then when we were just ready to go home after this whole ordeal the server took a good 30 minutes to get our checks in order after we finally got her attention after a good while of struggling.
I don’t leave reviews very often but I think this deserves one because every part of the service other than the hostess sitting me down was not up to par for the look and price of the restaurant. Also I don’t ever leave reviews but the staff was so insistent that I do so I figured I might as well give my honest opinion in hopes they might do...
Read moreComplaint Regarding Refusal of Cash Payment and Incomplete Change.
I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding an unacceptable experience I had at your restaurant. On 06/08/2025, I attempted to pay for my meal using cash. To my surprise, I was informed by your staff that the establishment does not accept cash payments and only accepts cards. Furthermore, when I insisted on paying with cash—as is my right under U.S. law—I was told that the restaurant did not have enough cash on hand to provide my full change.
This situation is both frustrating and concerning. The United States dollar is legal tender for all debts, public and private. While private businesses may set their own payment policies, refusing to provide appropriate change or effectively denying a cash transaction puts customers in a difficult and unfair position.
As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with fairness and respect. I should not be penalized or inconvenienced for using a legitimate form of payment. At the very least, your staff should have informed me of any cash policy in advance and should always be prepared to provide accurate change when accepting cash.
I respectfully request a formal apology and the return of the full amount of change I was owed. I also recommend that your establishment clearly communicate its payment policies before the point of sale and ensure it is prepared to accommodate lawful transactions appropriately.
Also, the hispanic lady with red hair that was by the cashier answer to me really rude, saying everyone is paying in card, making me feel that I'm the different person without being.
Is sad seeing MI cocina restaurants going down is costumer service and values which was years ago. I completely understand you need hired employees, but the employment hiring should be for someone to love customers, not for people to make costumers feel bad and make feel in their head, " Why I came here?"
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your...
Read moreSome of the reviews of this place were disproportionately bad, things may not have been super fantastic tasting but they werent bad. I was happy i chose to ignore the bad reviews. We came at about 8:30pm on a Sunday. Seemed like a pretty good time things were clearing out after the place clearly got rocked with a dinner rush. We ordered the "Pauleys" the "Tacos Mi Teirro" and the "Pollo Moderna" im on the Keto diet so for an upcharge I was able to upgrade my meal to have extra veggies instead of the rice. I felt my food, Pollo Moderna, was well seasoned and tasted good. Chicken was still moist and not dried out which was a nice surprise. We did order a side of Queso, and i gotta say that is just not good. Aside from being cold it basically just tasted like melted velveeta with their salsa, which is almost void of any flavor other than tomato, added to it. I spooned some on my chicken and something in the shape of a square clump fell out, clearly they didnt even melt it all the way. I dont recommend the Pauley's unless you've got a somewhat picky eater who is sensitive to spice. Its basically just a tortilla with hamburger meat in it. The meat isnt really seasoned. The service was good but our server was seemed whooped. Nothing against her I think she just was coming down from the rush. I had one drink, my usual a Jim Beam and club soda. They didnt have Jim Beam and substituted Jack Daniels. The cost was 9.50. Somewhat ridiculous if you ask me. All in all we enjoyed our meal, would come back. But beware of anything on the menu that comes with that Queso on it. As you see in some other reviews,...
