I’m so disappointed over the service that I got at brick and bones this Sunday. Went in with my friend and a gentleman happened to join us at the table. This was the entire reason for coming to deep Ellum because the food here is delicious. As soon as we sit down, The bouncer, Bob or Robert came to the table and said we all have to leave. I was so confused on the reasoning, He said that management asked him to tell all of us at the table to leave. I asked if we could speak to management to find out the reasoning why, And Bob did not reveal who management was.The gentleman that happened to sit at the table with us told me he was there earlier with another group and the girl they were with got them kicked out. At this point I grow upset because we don’t know this gentleman that we’re sitting with yet we are held accountable for someone else’s actions that we don’t know. At this point Bob is growing angry with us and saying that he’s actually being nice. Everyone in the restaurant happened to look at us like we did something wrong and that I did not appreciate.Bob is pushing us out in the pouring rain touching my back and literally pushing us out of the place in the pouring rain. When I say I am upset about this I usually would never write a negative review this long but this is idiotic. I’m pretty sure management probably wasn’t there. Me and my friend happen to come there often, and we bring people to come eat or drink here all the time. we’ve gotten to know some of the bartenders including the one that passed away due to a motorcycle accident. That’s not OK to treat people that way without an...
Read moreMy first experience was today for dinner. Why they wait until 6pm to open not sure, I feel especially Sunday for brunch would be a hit! Anyway, Small place, low lit, cold. Perfect for a nap lol, bartenders were super helpful and friendly! I got 4 piece fried chicken. I love that they only serve dark meat too. Also 3 is plenty, these are not small pieces! I also got the deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were pretty salty and I like salt. But great otherwise. Eggs with the home made hot sauce was way too salty unfortunately. The hot sauce has a great flavor and isn’t too spicy. I can’t do too much spice. Now. The chicken.. came out super fresh and hot. First bite threw me a little off lol because it has a cinnamon flavor. I don’t like cinnamon and kind of wish they didn’t use it but everyone is different and I ended up eating 2 pieces anyway because it was good. It was GREAT with the ranch! Very dill strong which I love. Tried it with the lime, the hot sauce, the cilantro, all Good flavor bursts. I will say that I asked for pickles and they said the owner hates pickles so doesn’t allow them and I thought that was silly because it’s not about him. It’s about the customers. I’m disappointed in that personally. Otherwise great place and I’d like to try the sandwich and elote next time! I do wish they have a version without cinnamon, just...

Walking into Brick & Bones was like stepping into a contradiction. The music? Absolutely stellar. Whoever curated the playlist deserves a raise—too bad the kitchen and waitstaff are determined to drag the whole experience straight into the gutter.
Let’s start with the service: slow, inattentive, and almost impressively indifferent. It felt like the staff had all collectively decided we were intruding on their day. Water refills were a pipe dream, and when the food finally arrived, it was dumped onto the table like a bad habit they were eager to quit.
And that food. The chicken, allegedly their specialty, was so bland I kept checking to make sure I wasn’t accidentally eating the napkins. The deviled eggs tasted as if they'd been crafted from melted Tupperware. And the gravy? A glorified oil slick that seeped into everything, leaving a greasy aftertaste that lingered like regret.
But hey, the music! It was the one bright spot—a perfect mix of soul, funk, and energy that made me want to stay… until I remembered I was trapped in a service-and-flavor wasteland.
Final verdict: Go for the music, but pack a meal and a flask. You’ll...
