Food 5 stars. Service from hostess 0 stars. Service from server 3.5 stars.

The hostess’ attitude was so off-putting that it almost made us leave. Before approaching the hostess stand at La Pizza & La Pasta we looked around the store and went up to see Terra. The ambience at La Terra looked perfect and all 4 staff members we encountered were all incredibly welcoming and friendly. We wanted pizza though so had to head downstairs. We were shocked by the change of attitude between the hostess downstairs and the staff upstairs. No welcoming smile. No eye contact. Made us feel like second class citizens for not having a reservation - this was on a Sunday close to opening and there were maybe 5% of tables being used. She tried to seat us in the very back corner next to the doors/windows by all the shopping carts hidden from the rest of the room by a partition - it felt like a cafeteria seat and we would have been totally on our own back there. We nicely asked to sit more central in the restaurant instead of the corner and she refused several times only offering us a table two over from the wall. Eventually she took us to a nice table that was more central and felt more worth the price of the food and wine we were about to order. The whole restaurant was practically empty. And it filled to maybe 15% capacity during the 90 minutes we were there. Absolutely no reason to have such attitude and be so rude about walk-in customers not wanting to be isolated in a back corner. We don’t know if her attitude toward us was racially motivated, if she didn’t think we were good enough for a decent table without a reservation or if she just hated her job and wanted others to be as miserable as her. We spent a lot on our meal and even more with a lot of food to take home. They need to be sure this hostess doesn’t scare away customers like us who were ready to walk away due to her behavior.

Our server was friendly. Not much personality. Felt like he was rushing us a bit. Asking us about dessert while we were only part way through our meals. Bringing our bill before plates were finished being cleared. Person clearing plates was reaching right across some of us still actively eating instead of going between us where there was space and easy access.

We have been to several Eataly locations and always love the food. This location was no different. Pizzas and pasta were delicious. Wine was enjoyed. Pasta (fresh and dried), assorted sauces, different breads, and treats we took home were also great.

Prices are high. Food quality matches. ...

Made reservation for Christmas Eve family dinner. We have always enjoyed Eataly’s restaurants;however, things went down hill quickly. If you’re gonna be open for holidays(they are open for Christmas too) please make sure you are well stocked. First outage, my wife ordered a cocktail, “I’m sorry we do. It have the correct ingredients for your cocktail”, 2nd outage, would you like an appetizer? Yes, I’d like pane rustico (bread), I’m sorry we are out of that bread! WTH! 3rd outage, probably should’ve just left after this one, “we’d like 4 of the truffle special dishes and 3 other dishes with the “special” shaved truffles”…waitress “I’m sorry sir we are out of the winter truffles or any truffles for that matter. “ Can I still order the special oh yes sir we will just cover it in truffle oil. WTH! Joe would not put up this! His best friend (Gordon Ramsay) says truffle oil is Sh**. If you don’t have the ingredients take it off the menu! Again. Should’ve just left at this point. We go ahead and order items that they have ingredients for…Dessert comes along, 4th outage, “I’d like an espresso and cappuccino”. I’m sorry our espresso machine is down. (Our reservation was 7:15pm I wonder if it was cleaned and then just tell customers it’s broke. ) can we still order tiramisu? Of course! Why you ask because it’s premade. Ok we will take a Nutella pizza (for kids), a tiramisu and the chocolate budino. Nutella pizza (made to order) comes out in 5 minutes. We set around another 5-10 minutes and waitress walks by “how is everything “ me,”be better if we could get the premade desserts.” Oh I’m sorry sir, comes back with desserts, 5th and final outage, I’m sorry sir we are out of SPOONS! I couldn’t believe this. We eat tiramisu and mousse with FORKS! Ready to blow my top I tell myself it’s Christmas and have my entire family and mother with us. I take it and just want to get home! $500+ later, party of 7, we begin to walk out of the restaurant into the Eataly store and what do I see, spoons and truffles for sale. Lol

Again if you’re gonna be open for holidays please make sure you can take care of...

My husband and I had a disappointing experience at Eataly in NorthPark Mall, Dallas, TX. We were visiting from San Antonio and, as regular Eataly customers, often make a point to dine there when in Dallas, even for special occasions. However, this visit fell far below our expectations.

We ordered two paninis from the deli, which are not cheap. The attendant mentioned that only one panini could be heated. I asked why both couldn’t be placed on the tray to warm at the same time, especially since it was a quiet Monday evening with barely any customers—maybe eight in total throughout the diner. He said he was told it wasn’t allowed. Then, a young lady from the pastry area chimed in, saying, “If we heat it, the salt will be too much.” I explained, “Well, I make these at home, and we like our paninis warm.” Despite this, they refused to accommodate the request.

As we were paying, the gentleman advised me that I could file a complaint at the front desk. Instead, I decided to share my feedback here. For context, I lived in Italy for four years, and paninis there are always served however the customer prefers—cold or warm.

Afterwards, we went to the wine bar, where Daniel was excellent. He was knowledgeable about wines, listened to what we wanted, and made great recommendations. His service was a highlight of an otherwise frustrating evening.

Later, we went to purchase desserts, and once again, the young lady made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. When I wanted to buy candies by the pound, she said she didn’t have a scale and sent me to another register to weigh them. This process felt unnecessarily difficult and disorganized.

Overall, this experience left much to be desired. While Daniel provided great service at the wine bar, the rest of the staff seemed unhelpful or unwilling to accommodate basic requests. I’m not sure if we’ll be returning to Eataly anytime soon. For reference, the receipt says Anna, but I don’t recall the name of the man who assisted us.

This time was 7:15 pm and they close...
