Worst iHop experience ever from the time we walked in until the moment we left. We were in Dallas, TX on vacation and our kids wanted to go to iHop for pancakes, which we do every so often when home in AZ. When we went on 7/8/19 this iHop took several minutes to even acknowledge our presence (even though there was no line and they were not busy). Then once we ordered, they came back several minutes after the fact saying that they did not have any of the kids chocolate pancakes (known as Funny Face), did not have any blueberries for the double blueberry pancakes on the regular menu, nor did they have lemonade, OJ or Sweet Tea (my kids dont drink soda; we ultimately got them waters). The kids revised their orders to accommodate what was available. My husband ordered his dish w/ scrambled eggs and bacon, when it finally arrived (20 mins or so after the rest of our orders), it was over easy eggs and sausage. When we told the waitress of the error with his order, she looked at him and said "oh my bad I put it in wrong" and stared at him as though she expected him to still eat the dish which was not at all what he ordered. Eventually she agreed to go back to the kitchen to have the order corrected. When she returned we asked for the check because by this time we're all annoyed and just over the bad experience. The waitress NEVER came back. 20 mins later another lady in regular clothes (assuming a shift manager or something) came by and asked if we needed anything else so we again asked for the check we had been waiting on. While waiting to pay at the register, another guest was there trying to place a to-go order at which point she was told the items she wanted to order were not available so to us, this seems like a trend for this location. It says its open 24 hours. We were there around 7pm. I would highly recommend someone from corporate send a Secret Shopper or some other representative down to this location because it is NOT representing iHop well. I have never been so dissatisfied with an experience at any restaurant be it a low budget or 5 star restuarant. Check my google review history, I typically only provide positive reviews for businesses and places I have been. The only reason I am taking the time to wrote this adverse review is because ignorance is bliss but perception is reality. I perceive this to be a location that should NOT be operating under the iHop name or they need a massive upgrade in customer service and a new person in charge of food supply. I gave it one star because I don't have an option to give it 0. There are plenty of other iHops in Dallas, if you are considering this...
Read moreExceptional Service and Speedy Food at IHOP Dallas
During a recent visit to IHOP in Dallas, I had the pleasure of experiencing exceptional service from a remarkable manager, despite the restaurant being incredibly busy. The food was delicious, albeit with a slight delay for some dishes due to the high demand.
First and foremost, the standout of my visit was the manager, a black woman with a leg brace and a teddy bear keychain. Her dedication and ability to handle such a busy day with grace and efficiency were truly remarkable. She demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in managing both her staff and the customers. Her positive attitude and attentiveness to the needs of both her team and the consumers were evident throughout the dining experience. Based on her outstanding performance, it is clear that she deserves recognition and appreciation, perhaps even a raise, for her excellent management skills.
Moving on to the food, IHOP delivered a satisfying and flavorful experience overall. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes and preferences. The dishes were cooked to perfection, with the flavors blending harmoniously. The food arrived promptly for the most part, allowing us to enjoy our meals without significant delays.
However, it is worth noting that during the busy period, some dishes did experience a delay of approximately 25 minutes. While this is understandable given the high demand, it may be an area where improvements can be made to ensure a more consistent and timely service. Nevertheless, the quality of the food remained excellent, and the wait, though slightly longer than expected, did not overshadow the overall positive dining experience.
The staff members at IHOP were friendly and accommodating, despite the hectic environment. Their ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor and provide attentive service was commendable. It was evident that they were well-trained and worked together as a cohesive team to meet the needs of the customers.
In conclusion, IHOP in Dallas provided a satisfying dining experience with exceptional service from a remarkable manager. The food was delicious, and despite slight delays during the busy period, the overall experience remained positive. The dedication and professionalism of the staff, particularly the manager, were noteworthy. IHOP in Dallas is a reliable choice for a tasty meal and...
Read moreThe food is great and we don't mind waiting 20 minutes or so to be seated. HOWEVER, the staff's customer service is NOT so great. And I'm being nice in saying this cause I have another word in mind for it. I believe RETRAINING is in order unless the entire staff is NEW, first time EVER to work in a restaurant. I can understand that. After the waitress took our order and left our drinks on the table, she didn't come back to ask us if we needed anything else. The person that brought us the food seemed bothered that we asked her for extra plates, warm syrup, jelly, etc. We finally got up to get our own ketchup. Shouldn't these condiments be on the table already, keeps us from asking for them. None of the staff ever smiled. We yelled at one waitress for water. I asked for a to go box, the waitress told me she was busy doing something else but that she would bring it to me. Instead she should have said, sure, with a smile, I'll take it to you in a bit. We felt like the staff was just there to do their job but we're not happy to be there. Did not see a smile from anyone or showing enthusiasm to serve us. Even when we asked for the WiFi password. Staff could have said, let me go back and double check the pw for you. Hate to say we won't be going back to Cockrell Hill, we will stay in Cedar Hill. Probably makes no impact on you since IHOP is always full. 5 less people to serve. The Olive Garden in front of IHOP just opened up, send some of the staff to shadow their staff. Unhappy customer. Have a nice day hope your staff has a better rest of the day and starts showing some...
