Not worth the price
I ordered the Butter Chicken (1/5), Lamb Curry(3/5), and Lamb Samosa (3/5). Each dish came with a side of fragrant cardmom yellow basmati rice (4/5). That was probably my favorite part of the meal - the only thing that really impressed.
Firstly, every dish was severely under salted. Of course, that can be a preferential thing, but I had to break out the salt and I never usually salt at the table.
The Butter Chicken was probably the saddest. Usually in a traditional Butter Chicken the tomato paste is cooked down with onion and spices. The tomato paste will brown nicely and lose the tin taste. The Butter Chicken we had had a Campbell's tomato soup taste - lacking any spice you'd expect in the dish. Also, I am not sure of the choice in the cut of chicken but the meat was quite gristly. To be frank, for the $19 you spend on the dish it is really lacking in the amount of meat. Grossed out.
The Lamb Curry was okay. Again, underwhelming flavor. The amount of lamb was pretty good. I have had way better at a friend's house who is just a home cook. I wouldn't pay $21 for Indian Palace's Lamb Curry. Disappointed.
I was happier with the Lamb Samosas - when comparing it to the rest of the dishes. The amount of lamb in the well made pastry was a pleasant surprise after the disappointing amount of protein in the other dishes. Yet again, lacking in the flavor department. Which I was glad when I found tamarind sauce and and a green chutney which offered some reprieve from the lack of flavor. I would probably eat those again.
My third time eating here and each time was consistent - no time worst than the last. Each time was equally...
Read moreThe moment I walked in with my family we were stared at with blank faces and unwelcoming energy. As I gestured to the waitress she immediately turned away and asked for someone else to help us. Shortly after we were brought waters. We noticed we were the only table in the entire restaurant that didn’t have any straws in our drinks. Odd! So I asked…easy! However I noticed another couple being seated and greeted politely and with warm affection. Not what I experienced but ok! When the waiter returned to take our order, my wife asked about the spice level (you have to ask) he answered the question then immediately walked away for about five minutes. Returning with an abrupt “are you ready now?” 👀… but we ordered shortly afterwards I saw the food coming out warm and smelling delicious, plated beautifully. Until the waiter sat our entrees on the table and said” two dishes one rice” and walked away again! While asking the manager for clarification since each entree comes with rice, my daughter noticed a hair in her butter chicken😳. At this point I’m getting a little irritated. And even more so when I decide to go ahead and eat my food. I unwrapped the silverware just to find food stuck to the fork and my wife’s fork.😤as I look to get the waiters attention, he comes around the corner with what I can only assume is the same dish with the piece of hair removed. Since it had only been about 60seconds since he’d taken it away from the table. That was the last straw! I’ve been to some really sketchy Indian restaurants from Chicago to Dallas and have yet to have a bad experience...
Read moreTOTAL RIP OFF!!! INSANE PRICES FOR TASTELESS, FLAVORLESS & COLOR FILLED FOOD. I wouldn't bother to pay if they food was atleast good. The restaurant was ok and decent, can't even get close to consider or call a fine dine. Except water and garlic naan nothing was tasty. Food portion was also small. Completely bland and filled with a lot of food color. Color was on my hands and would not even get off with multiple times soap washing or even with sanitizer. Seemed like I visited to pay for the food color. Thought I ordered butter chicken but instead received color filled chicken curry without butter or any cashews. Absolutly no flavor or any spice. We have the tolerance to take insane spiciness i bet you. Asked the steward to make it spicy but it still came out bland. Even the rice served as the side seemed not fresh, was dry and over cooked. The chicken used in the curry had rubbery texture and a weird taste. Don't know how people are saying great about their food. They either have not tasted the authentic taste or never tried anything better outside. Sucks!!!
NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO WANT TO TRY THEIR FOOD HERE. NEVER AGAIN. PATHETIC EXPERIENCE!!!!
Pros: WATER, GARLIC NAAN. CUSTOMER SERVICE & IF YOU ARE LUCKY, YOU MIGHT GET CANCER EATING TONS OF FOOD COLOR FROM THEIR CURRIES.
cons: TINY PORTIONS, EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, USAGE OF UNHEALTHY FOOD...
