Just wow! I woke up this morning with the intention to eat some good breakfast food but didn't know where to look since I have been let down in the past. I decided to search Google one last time and thankfully, Maple Leaf Diner was the first place to pop up with great ratings. Still I was hesitant because I had never heard of this place and again, I have been deceived by Google reviews before. But after spending quite a bit of time reviewing the reviews and looking at the pictures, I decided to give this place a try. What sold me was their chicken and waffles! I love waffles but I'm not big on chicken and waffles, in fact, I was more attracted by their French toast! But, the C&W presentation is top tier so I figured I should at least try it out to make sure it taste as good as it looked! When I got to the restaurant there was a wait of course lol but after about 35 minutes I was seated and greeted by my waiter, Kevin. Everyone was extremely kind and professional and my food came out almost immediately after I ordered it! It looked just like the pictures and tasted even better than I could imagine! Literally everything was delicious, especially the waffles which I prefer over pancakes! Kevin was very attentive and even brought me water with no ice since I had just had dental work completed. (and probably shouldn't have even been there) lol I did end up getting the C&W with bacon although the sausage was tempting, I just don't trust everyone's sausage but after today, I will definitely be back a few more times to try that and the French toast! Before I left another server came over and left me a free slice of pie! This was the cherry on top lol I don't like pie but didn't want to seem rude so I accepted it. (I actually ate it too because I don't like to waste things and it was very good) I am so grateful that I decided to visit this restaurant as they exceeded my expectations! If you are on the fence about going, TRUST ME, it's worth it! Thank you all for an amazing meal and great service! I posted on my social media and a few of my followers begged for the...
Read moreI discovered Maple Leaf Diner through a glowing review on Instagram, and let me tell you, it lived up to the hype and then some—it was the highlight of my day. Tucked away in the heart of the city, this spot nails that perfect cozy classic diner vibe—think warm, inviting booths and a timeless charm that feels like a hug from home—without a speck of grime in sight. It’s spotlessly clean, which is a huge plus for a place buzzing with locals and out-of-towners alike.
Now, onto the food, because that’s where Maple Leaf truly shines. I ordered the eggs Benedict, and oh man, it was perfection on a plate. The poached eggs were runny in the best way, the hollandaise sauce creamy and tangy without overpowering, and the English muffin had that ideal crisp-yet-soft texture. Paired it with a side of French toast, and I swear, these golden slices were the fluffiest, most indulgent I’ve ever tasted—drizzled with maple syrup that tasted straight from the tree. And don’t sleep on the country potatoes—they’re perfectly cooked and seasoned, crispy on the outside with that just-right golden crunch and a flavor that ties the whole meal together. Every bite was a flavor explosion, and portions were generous enough to leave me satisfied but not stuffed.
But it’s not just the eats; the service here is next-level. My server, Vickie, was the sweetest thing, keeping my coffee hot and full while making sure I had everything I needed, all delivered with the sweetest Texas charm and zero rush, even on a busy Monday morning. Thank you, Vickie! ☕️
If you’re in Dallas craving comfort food done right, Maple Leaf Diner is your spot—especially now as they kick off their 10-year anniversary celebrations today! Congrats on a decade of deliciousness, team; you’ve earned every bit of it. I’ll be back next visit—maybe for the pancakes this time. Highly recommend!
Sorry I didn’t get photos, I ate everything before thinking about leaving the review....
Read moreI never leave reviews, but this place deserves one for so many reasons. First of all,, the food was delicious. I had the chicken parmesan, and my friend hand the French toast trio.
Mine was literally the best chicken parm I've ever eaten. It was served with fettuchini with meat sauce. Normally I'm not a meat sauce girl, but man, this sauce was perfection. You could taste that everything was homemade fresh with love.
My friend said her dish was very tasty as well. We were also served some cream puffs filled with thick custard, which were so yummy that I bought extra to take home to my kids. Be warned however, these are best eaten chilled at the restaurant, so the ride home didn't serve them very well.
But in addition to the food, the whole staff was so nice. Our waitress, Niva, was very attentive. The manager on duty came by to make sure we got drinks right away, as she was helping another table in the chaos of the Sunday lunch rush. When she was able to assist us a few moments later, she was very helpful in answering several questions my friend had about the menu.
Niva checked on us the perfect number of times throughout the meal. Our glasses were never empty.
Finally, we were told several stories about the owner while we were there. I'm not sure if it is my place to share them publicly, but suffice it to say that he sounds like an amazing person who really loves his staff, and his staff loves him back in return. Many of the employees have been there 5+ years.
I believe I have found my new favorite restaurant in the DFW area! I wish the owners and the staff the...
