DO NOT GO. They cannot handle volume abd have terrible service. I went there for the first time today. Its a very small place. Outside probably seats less than 25 and it was full. Inside probably seats the same. It was not full, several empty tables but apparently they didn't have a lot pf staff. We stood at the door for 5 minutes waiting to he seated. No one was at host stand. There was someone working behind the bar in direct eyesight of us literally 25 feet away that never acknowledged us.
Finally what appeared to be a waitress came out, not actually stopping at us, she was headed to the patio and as she was walking out stated that they were on a 25-30 min wait. So I stood there and waited and when shse came back in, she didn't come back to put us on the list she walked right past us to the kitchen...So I'm thinking maybe she's not the actual hostess....I then see the person who was behind the bar behind the cash register for the to go. I walked over, he asked what I needed without looking up, and I told him that a lady told us that there is a 30 minute wait, but she hasnt put us on the list. His response -and I quote- "if she told you there's a 30 minute wait, there's a 30 minute wait" ???? A 30 minute wait to get on the list?? Mind you this idiot's eyes were red and it looked like he had been drinking as much as he was working. I asked who the manager was multiple times while he said he would put me on the list only for him to say that he was the manager? If true, that explained a lot. I then asked for the owners name, he said he was the owner lol. So he's the owner, manager abd bartender... The cards at the front say Juan Chavez. I have no clue whats what. I do know this place was an entire mess today and I strongly don't recommend it. I know all businesses have bad days, but this was nad planning, bad leadership and bad attitudes. Read moreI went to this restaurant a second time in the same number of weeks. Both times the food was exceptional everything from thechips and salsa to both orders from the premium menu. I wish i could say my experience with the service was the same. I sat at the bar both times where the manager was bartending to a very small crowd in the restaurant. After my order was taken he was almost absent. I had to flag someone down for refills on chips, salsa and soda each time there were emptied. Both visits someone mentioned i needed to ask the bartender. After asking a person for a to go cup i was quickly told (they can respond in a timely manner) that i had.received free chips and hot salsa and free soda refills three or four times so would need to be changed for a to go cup. Which i can understand . However i almost felt accosted for being provided with refillls all free. I was not aware of limited refills on any items. I aid i did not appreciate being reprimanded for the amount of refills i asked for. I spoke to whom i assumed is the assistant manager. I also asked to speak to the manager..the bartender and id id e guess the owner. Neither were concerned when i said i would not be returning in fact both said that's fine with them. I hare to miss out on an exceptional meal, howver will not go back to a restaurant that doesn't value their customers and that customers experience. Understanding the restaurant is closed on Mondays, I called on a Tuesday morning to ensure the order I placed online - FOR A CLIENT MEETING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - was in the pipeline. The woman that answered the phone was clearly annoyed by my call and couldn't even understand my question. She could not understand that I was calling to confirm the order to ensure I had lunch on time for my meeting. She was dismissive, insolent, and had the audacity to raise her voice. The only reason why I kept my cool was because I did not have time to deal with a plan B. Otherwise, I would've canceled the order. I regret giving a 20% tip. I will never, ever, ever, patron Sazon.
