I came today on Cinco De Mayo & I was extremely disappointed! The food was really good and the drinks were amazing but the SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!! I try not to bring my race into things but I am the only dark skinned person here & they did not really want to service me! It took them forever just to be attentive to me after they passed by me 3 times and didn’t say anything. It took for me to say excuse me can I get some help but then she said “ I see you give me sometime “
So I finally got help and the server was Rebecca she didn’t check on me at all while I was eating. She came after I was eating ( I eat slow) then I get ready to pay for my tab and she said she ran my card two times and it declined.
So while I was still enjoying my margarita outside she made me get up and come inside just to pay the tab which went through the first time. I didn’t understand how she was having so much trouble with the bill. DONT COME HERE IF YOU ARE OF COLOR! I am actually Cuban and I am very fluent with Spanish and I heard her say well she’s not going to leave a tip anyway.
I purposely left a $20 tip because baby I got it & I have more then you’ll ever have in life. Stop judging people by there color or what you think they are and understand God created us...
Read moreThe food is definitely worth a full 5 stars! I got the menudo (only served on Saturday and Sunday) and my husband got the chorizo con huevos (spicy sausage and eggs).
Mine came with the usual "fixin's" that menudo comes with. Heaps of chopped cilantro, onion, jalapeños, and lime. His came with a side of decried beans. The menudo was incredible, so tender and tons of flavor. I didn't add any jalapeños because it was already perfectly spicy. His plate did NOT skimp on the chorizo, and we were also served about 8 fluffy, decently-sized home made tortillas. Not your typical "two per person" serving that so many Mexican restaurants have diverted to.
I docked one star only because the service was pretty skimpy. She brought our drinks and our food and that was it. No refills or anything like that. The staff is also mostly Spanish speaking, which luckily wasn't a problem for me at all but if you aren't a native Texan or someone who can speak "kitchen Spanish" then you might be confused and unable to...
Read moreCame here because the 2 reviews on caldo de res seemed good and my husband has not been able to find a decent caldo in all of Dallas. The caldo was ok and he would return. He said he liked the flavor but the caldo was lukewarm and needs to be much hotter to be thoroughly enjoyed. The rice that accompanied it was not good. I had the same experience with my enchiladas Verdes. They were not hot at all but rather lukewarm as if they had been sitting for a bit before being served. Which is totally possible considering we had to wait 34 min to get our food. Service wasn't the best considering the size of the small restaurant. They were not packed (9 tables full) and considering they had 3-4 waiters, service should have been faster. I would not return because it is your basic Tex Mex restaurant despite what reviews say and way too far to come from Plano but my husband liked the caldo so will definitely try something different on my...
