I recently visited Poke Bop on Abrams Road, and it was an experience that tantalized my taste buds and left me eager to return. Starting with the miso soup, I was immediately impressed. The broth was rich and comforting, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of umami—a warm prelude to the main event.
For my entree, I indulged in the Crazy King Kong bowl, which was nothing short of exceptional. The ingredients were remarkably fresh, a vibrant medley of flavors and textures that came together beautifully. The spice level was spot on—not overwhelming, but with enough heat to excite the palate. Each bite delivered a perfect balance of freshness, zest, and spice, showcasing an attention to detail that deserves recognition.
The ambiance of the restaurant further elevated the experience. The space was impeccably clean and inviting, a testament to the establishment’s commitment to quality not just in its food but in its overall presentation.
While there’s always room for a touch of improvement, Poke Bop undoubtedly delivers a stellar dining experience for poke enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This is a spot I’d gladly recommend...
Read moreI've been visiting Poke Bop locations since they opened several years ago, and the Lakewood location has really gone downhill the past several months. My favorite thing to order is the Poke Bop classic with salmon instead of tuna. I typically order through Chownow and pick it up myself. The past few months, the portion sizes (just for online orders!) have decreased considerably. I get a full bowl if I order in person, otherwise the attached picture is a typical portion for my $13 bowl. This has happened about six times in the past three months. Last time, my rice was undercooked and crunchy to boot! I asked them to remake the bowl, and my serving size magically doubled.
I want to love this place - the fish is fresh, the flavors are good, the prices are reasonable for poke, the location so convenient for me! But I just can't ignore the drop in portion sizes and apparent lack of care in preparing the order. I hope they fix whatever's going in...
Read moreI live in the neighborhood and had wanted to try this place but was worried about the freshness of the raw fish. Decided to just see what I thought and I was very pleased with the variety and the freshness of the fish varieties and that were available which included Tuna, Salmon, Shrimp and all the types available at most Sushi restaurants. I really enjoyed my lunch and the atmosphere was relaxing and very pleasing. Well decorated in modest but tasteful furnishings including wall mounted surfboards, comfortable seating and tables for 1 or several if needed. Very friendly servers and just a great place for a delicious meal and relaxing. If you haven’t been, try it. It was reasonably priced for the quality of food and well...
