The Kava Bar — Restaurant in Dallas

For the service and atmosphere, this place was initially wonderful. I’m a single mom — I don’t get to go out much, so when I do, I cherish my rare “me time.” This used to be a spot where a woman could unwind, make friends if she wanted, or simply exist without feeling pressured to engage.

But that all changed one evening. There was this plump, young, beady-eyed man who honestly looked like he might have thyroid issues — and his gaze was… unsettling. His eyes were fixed on me in a way that made my skin crawl. I understand it’s evening, maybe he thought it was harmless to approach the opposite sex, but he just wouldn’t leave me alone. He hovered, he lingered, and the worst part? He was doing it to every woman there.

My first time trying Kava and it was a great experience. Although it's an acquired taste, the server was really nice and she walked us through the menu.

My reason for rating lower stars is because of a health and safety concern. As I was in line to pay and leave, a new person came in for his shift and immediately started touching glassware. I don't know if he was making something just for himself or for a guest, but either way it was not cool of him to handle anything behind the bar before washing his hands.

While the team created a welcoming and chill atmosphere for us, I was really disappointed seeing that at the end of my visit. Coming from a fellow food service worker, please please...

When I came to Dallas as a Florida Kava Bar owner I did not expect to find a kava bar never mind one that made me feel like home. I was wrong I found The Kava Bar and immediately raced over from my hotel. I was welcomed with a shell and the staff and I immediately hit it off. They do a great job explaining the products to new customer, they are attentive and do great events. It was my home base for the 3 days I was in Dallas and honestly when I left I missed it. I cannot wait to go back to Dallas and visit and now I know I have our community there. Jackson is a great manager and Garyn is one of the best kava tenders I have had at a kava bar.
