Sweeny's Pub — Restaurant in Dallas

I was here recently with a friend, it being my first time here while the friend has been here previously. This is a small but clean and cozy bar. The people were all welcoming and friendly but not obnoxiously friendly. A womàn could come in here alone and feel comfortable and unthreatened. There's a lot to look at here...photos, dart league awards, etc. There were dollar bills all over the ceiling and I'm sure there's a story for this but I don't know what it is. There are two electric dart board machines, each allowing different types of dart games for one or more people. There are lottery machines to play if you feel lucky. I should have tried one of those because I lack any control of darts and they were flying all over the place. Okay, I exaggerate...the owners of this wonderful place knew there would be people like me playing this game because they have it protected on three sides so the darts won't actually go flying everywhere and no one is at risk of getting hurt by the rubber-tipped darts. Sweeny's has food available if you get hungry from darts or lotto. There are two restrooms available; the ladies room was clean and I assume the mens was as well. Lots of parking available right out front. I definitely recommend Sweeny's. You might even see me there when you visit. I'm the "noodle-arm" blonde practicing her...

It's always nice to find that one bar that makes you feel welcome and you enjoy especially since we work away from home. The locals are friendly and entertaining. Bartender is always pleasant. Bonus they have a dart board. They make working away from home...

Casual working bar, staff respectful, friendly, go out of their way to treat you like family. Good food, drinks, if you like a biker style bar, lots of ex military people, lots of poker runs for good causes... Down home style working patrons...
