My experience at The People's Last Stand (Dallas, TX) was not a pleasant experience. The manager demonstrated incompetency and the owner was Unprofessional. I was apart of a party of 5 who were there to celebrate a bachelorette. When it was time for our party to be seated, there was no seating available for us. When this happened, the manager asked us to sit back down on the couches to “figure something out” (which was humiliating btw). After a few minutes passed, she came back and said "I’m sorry, this has never happened before, but we are going to have to sit you at the bar". Frustrated by this, I asked her if there were some type of accommodations, or support that would be given to us being that we payed full price like everyone else in the room. She said that she would call the owner of the establishment. When she left, I noticed that she went and said something to one of the employees and it appeared that she was talking about us. I did not appreciate that all and it only made me more upset. While we waited for a response, we sat at the bar and the class began. The bar was faced away from the instructor and we had to turn our backs to even understand what was going on. While seated at the bar, we had no materials. It was so bad, that one of the employees working behind the bar said that he would help us out. he was gracious enough to grab materials for us. After this, the manager came back and said that the owner said, "either we rebook or cancel the class". Being that a majority of our party does not live in TX, there was no way we could just simply rebook. I was extremely frustrated being that we payed FULL PRICE to sit at the bar with our backs facing away from the instructor. We were so behind on what to do, that the manger had to basically tell us what to do. We were offered free shots for the experience and to be honest I was not impressed by that. I get free shots on my own time. I personally would not recommend. They were very unprofessional and ill equipped for overbooking. It appeared they just wanted our money and did not care about our customer experience. And to only make 2 drinks?...
Read moreWe threw a surprise party for a close friend of mine here this past weekend. We had a group of about 16 there for a cocktail making class. With surprises of course things can be a bit delayed but our teachers for the class were very gracious and accommodating for us! They even let us throw confetti which I know can be a pain but we were very grateful. The class itself was soooo fun! The drinks we made were delicious and the instructors(Dylan I think was one of them) made everything so easy to follow. The class for sure gets 5 stars!
What was not enjoyable was the fact that the AC was out. It’s currently over 100 degrees in Texas. We booked this experience well in advance and were not notified that the AC would not be working. They had 3 giant fans to try to keep everyone cool but it was still unbelievably hot. The bathroom had no fans or anything to help keep it cool. We asked if it just went out that day which is why we weren’t notified and were told it’s been out for 6 weeks!! A member of the group called to ask about why we weren’t notified about the AC so we could have had the option to make a different choice and was rudely told by Jacob the manager that we started late and they accommodated us so we basically shouldn’t complain about the B AC. I would think there would be some type of apology and ownership of not making your patrons aware that they would be baking in the heat and giving them options in case they had any health issues or simply didn’t want to be drenched in sweat. But instead Jacob deflected and brushed us off. I really wish I could give this experience more stars because the class was truly a good time but the lack of accountability and safety for patrons was...
Read moreThis establishment definitely has its multiple cons, and 1 pro. It was our first experience there. When we first walked in, we got there a few minutes before our scheduled cocktail making class. It was a group of 4 of us, and after a couple minutes of having not been greeted, I walked up to the nearest server and tried to mention that we were there for the class. She very rudely cut me off and gave the response “I know, that’s what everyone else is waiting on too.” I walked back to my group and sadly another party saw the interaction and told us that their concern was also handled the same way when they walked in. First impressions are everything, and that set the tone for the night. It took another 30 minutes for the class to actually start. We were on a schedule that night to go somewhere else, so this delay pushed everything back. We had to squeeze in pretty tight at one long table with about 20 other people. Not the best idea considering that people tend to like having their own personal space. The cherry on top was that our bill was split across 3 ways, but 4 Days after our visit, one member of my group got charged 2 additional times. Her portion was $72, but she ended up seeing separate charges on her statement from this establishment totaling $588. Now she has to go through the pain of getting a new card, and disputing these insane charges with her bank. I most likely Will not go back here, and I will not be recommending anyone to visit.
Pro: the instructor was lively during the class and gave clear instructions for each lesson. The drinks he taught us to make were good. This is the only reason for...
