Customer service fail. I contacted WVF via e-mail for a quote and questions about their billing and the process. The representative answered my questions promptly and thoroughly. No complaints, in fact I decided to sign on based on the response and we agreed on an installation day. On the day of install I took the day off of work. The technician showed up at the house within the agreed upon time frame. The tech explained he would not be able to do the installation because their contractor had not run the underground conduit to the house. The tech apologized and said someone would call me to get it figured out. A different rep called me a few hours later and again blamed their contractor for the problem. (what i didn't tell the rep is that earlier I saw what appeared to be their contractor with the Ditch Witch on a trailer drive right by my house) The rep stated their contractor could be back out in 2 days on Thursday. I explained to the rep that if they are going to be on my property conducting this type of work then I want to be present and I would not be off work that day. I told her I would be available on Friday and the following Monday. She stated she would contact their contractor and see if that would work. She called me back a short time later to say that the contractor could not do the work on Friday instead of Thursday. SERIOUSLY?! Their contractor screwed up and is now dictating terms to the people that hired them?! Wow, just wow. I get it, sometimes things get messed up. But it's the way you handle it that is important. I was more than willing to give them a second chance, but they let a customer walk away because their contractor told them no. They didn't even try to make it right. The sad thing is, I really wanted to switch, for the lower rates, the faster speeds and to do business with a local company. This was a total lose-lose, but WVF only has themselves to blame. I will not be recommending them to...
Read moreIt is incredibly refreshing to have a locally-operated ISP. Every time I've ever needed to call them for customer service (which is incredibly rare) I immediately reach a customer service representative who is incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Each time they have upgraded their packages to higher speed tiers, we have been upgraded automatically - no need to call and beg for whatever new deal they are running. We do have occasional downtime on the service, but not any more often than I remember when we were on one of the national ISP networks, and the downtime has never lasted more than a couple hours.
Dealing with Comcast and/or Century Link used to be such a pain, WVF is a better company to work with by a...
Read moreWe recently moved to Dallas, we saw a list of internet providers we chose one. I tried to download my Xbox games, it was taking days to download games. I got a flyer in the mail for willamette valley fiber with a great offer for 1000gps. I set up installation. The crew that came our were friendly and professional. They quickly set up our service. I signed on and tested out their service. I downloaded my 63 gb game in a half hour. We are so pleased we switched and would recommend willamette valley fiber...
