Shake Shack — Restaurant in Dania Beach

When my flight arrived at Fort Lauderdale airport. (FLL) I had a deep hunger and desire to indulge in a fried chicken sandwich. You see, the closest Chick-Fil-A location in proximity to my habitation is 102 km’s away and that’s not including crossing the border. And while I’m fond of small chat at customs, it’s not the most practical option in my current season and context.

So to find out the FLL did not have a chick-fil-a, I quickly felt a case of the 3 D’s. disappointed, discouraged and disconnected.

But thankfully the story the doesn’t end here. I think Henry Kissinger said it best “ Serendipity - Look for something, find something else, and realize what you found is more suited to your needs than what you thought you were looking for.”

My friend recommended we try the Shake Shack as an alternative. The lineup was quite long, but as you’ll soon read, it was well worth the wait.

The staff working there were pro’s. Despite the busyness and high demand, they remained cool, calm and collected. Unfortunately I didn’t get to chat with them for too long, but with the large lineups behind and in front of us, I’ll give them a pass for not asking me about my nephew’s upcoming basketball tournament.

Needless to say we waited patiently and the food arrived.

We ordered 3 different burgers and 1 fried chicken burger, French fries (some cheese sauce too 🤮)

The burgers were quite good but the fried chicken burger experience is what truly ouzed of Serendipity. The breading was light and crispy, the chicken was tender and juicy, and my stomach and heart were full.

For myself as a client, I’d rate myself a 4.2

I did the following things well:

-Ate with my mouth closed -Waited patiently and with a smile -Cleaned up after myself

Some area for improvement included:

At one point I made eye contact with one of the staff then looked at my watch. I hope they didn’t take that as a sign that I was frustrated with the wait. I was merely counting calories. I forgot to give the staff my business cards. Oh well next time.

Overall, a great experience. Until the next time FLL...

So after they gave me my cheese burger they told me my vanilla shake would be right up. While patiently waiting I could clearly see the lady making the shakes, and she had noticed something in the mixing cup and picked something out with her fingers then resumed blending. She brought out the shake totally overflowing and dripping and the outside of cup was covered in ice cream dripping all the way to the napkins. Out of curiosity after seeing her picking something out and after I wiped down the cup, I started rotating the transparent plastic cup inspecting the vanilla shake and discovered towards the bottom what looked to be a thick black hair about 1/2 inch long. I used a straw to bring it too the top and got my confirmation. Probably the thickest black hair I have ever seen. Had to be possibly a fake eye lash or pubic hair. I took it back to the counter, and they gave me attitude like what do you want, until I showed them and they all very quickly saw what I was talking about. The staff with a very heavy English accent, was unpolite. The girl who is the cashier, was asking me if I would french fries in the breakfast burger I ordered, but in her own way I could not understand. She wasn’t willing to explain me, just pointed her fingers to the side it was the french fries, but in a very bad manner, which I was not even able to understand, since there was more stuff in there. Then, I asked her if I could get french fries, then she said: “that’s what I was asking you”. Then, she said $4 more. I was already so dissapointed, that I asked her to leave it like that. Finally, I got the burger, and the other guy who was with her, didn’t give me the coffe I odered along with the burger. Just put the burger on the counter in a very unpleasant manner. Then, when I asked for mi coffe, his actitud was like I was bothering him. Very bad and poor service. I won’t never recommend it. Besides, this is a junk food, and not to many choises at...
