RAW — Restaurant in Davenport

My husband and I were very excited to try Raw. When we got there three employees were working. We were seated and ordered drinks and a hummus appetizer right away. The portions seemed pretty small, and the menu wasn't very big. We figured we would order one of everything and split it. We snacked on our hummus and waited to order everything else, but our waitress got busy helping another group. This would have been no issue except that one of the other employees left, and the other one kept running to the grocery store to pick up more food because they kept running out. After about 20-25 min of waiting after we finished our food our waitress finally came back, but at this point we were fully fed up from the lack of service. Especially since there were only 3 groups of two in the restaurant including us. As we walked out we saw the other two employees sitting on the benches outside just talking. My friend and I met up for drinks here and it was a great time! I was greeted by the bartender on shift named Matt with a smile and was friendly. I ordered the Hibiscus Cosmo ( priced at $9) and it was one of the best cosmos I have ever had, the sweetness and tartness were balanced perfectly for my personal tastes. I opted to try charcuterie board on his suggestion and it was filling. I really liked the pickled carrots and the cheeses were good quality. My friend and I enjoyed our drinks and were joined by my husband, he tried a smoked whiskey and he was pleased. My friend enjoyed all of her cocktails that they made for her each one was different and they also customized each drink to her tastes.

I hope you take this as constructive criticism and not me bashing the place.

Love the atmosphere, drink selections, apps, and specials from here. But something has to change with the service training. My wife and I used to come here often but the last multiple visits have shown us it’s best to stay away.

Each visit we’ve not been greeted, but also just ignored for 10-20 minutes until someone comes over. When they do it feels like we’re an inconvenience to be there and there’s no energy in the whole bar behind the counter. To add to that, it’s clear that the bartenders don’t know their menu and it never seems that anyone is in charge.

We hope this place can turn it around because we would love to start returning again. We’ll give it another shot in a few months hoping things...
