Fine, until the bill came. First off, let me start by saying my family and I have been in the restaurant - customer service business for 40 years (and still are) so we know how it works.....
My husband and I and our two children went to Denny's at 5645 S. University Drive in Davie, FL yesterday (Sunday, August 18th, 2012 at 10:30 am).
Marco Zayetoon; the manager - is a JERK!!!! He has NO BUSINESS being a manager!!! He is stupid, arrogant, he is a LIAR, and he DOES NOT care about customer satisfaction!!!
Cecelia was our server and she was GREAT!! We loved her. She was attentive, pleasant, and she was on top of her tables.
Our food was good, coffee was hot, juices were cold....No complaints there.
Now it comes down to pay the bill. We had (one) $100.00 bill and (one) $20.00 bill on us, no other cash or charge cards.
Our bill was $40.97 we went to pay with the $100.00 bill. They had a machine there to check large bills. I have never seen this type of machine ever in my life in any other bar, restaurant, store, etc. The machine spit the bill out basically saying that it was not a valid 100-dollar bill. I told the manager to run it again and again it spit the bill out as invalid. I told the manager that that is impossible, this bill came from my restaurant and we check every 100, 50, and 20 that comes in. I asked him if he had a Dri Mark pen, he looked at me like I had three heads. I said the pen that you use to check money to see if it is counterfeit; it will mark it black if it is fake and yellow if it is real; and said to me and I quote; "The Denny's Corporation said that we ARE NOT ALLOWED to use those pens to check the money." WHAT!!!???!!! are you kidding me!!! The most universal method for checking money and he said they are not allowed! No back-up plan!!??!! You know in case their; "high-tech" money machine fails to work correctly?? So, he said that he would not except this bill. So not having any other form of payment, I told the manager to give me a regular pen and I had him initial the bill, then my husband told him that he was going to the bank to have the bill checked and if this bill comes back as real, (for our inconvenience and embarrasment that we are being caused) that breakfast was on the house, that manager said and I quote, "Yes, on the house, no problem." I had to sit in Denny's with my two babies while my husband went up to Bank of America, and of course, the bill was real. My husband came back to the Denny's with the same initialed bill and a business card from the bank teller and told the manager that the bill was real. He runs the bill through the machine again and now......all of a sudden, the machine is working because it said the bill was valid. The manager took the bill - after he first said he would comp. the meal LIED, then he said 25% off the bill and when the arguing between him and my husband started he gave me change (59.03) which was an in-full payment. HE DID NOT do a thing about it! No customer service skills, no people skills, nothing!

Read moreWent on Tuesday morning August 9th, around 10 AM with my family. Was a terrible experience service wise. Stood around for 5 minutes before was able to be seated. No one was at the front desk. Then when seated waited almost 25 minutes to even be acknowledged. I saw 1 male waiter handling about 5 tables nearby us all by himself. He did the order taking serving and bussing...I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't also do the dishwashing and the cooking as well. There was an employee whom was on the phone and just chatting away a few tables from us then she started to eat food and we finally asked her can you let our waiter know it's been 30 minutes and we still have not ordered or had coffee! She seemed bothered and while still sitting and eating....just yelled out the waiters name across the restaurant instead of getting up to go find him. Super unprofessional to yell like that and not wear a mask and eat in front of customers. Waiter finally came took our order but was just overwhelmed. Brought things out slow and no napkins, then pancakes and no syrup. Just was not a good breakfast experience. We asked him if he was alone as we felt bad for the waiter he said yeah just not enough staffing or help...seemed like the manager on duty if there was any didnt care or was not here. I wouldn't recommend this Denny's to anyone at all. To conclude this...the waiter/busbuy/dishwasher/cook person...also took our payment at the end at the front desk where I guess the host is supposed to be. He seem to be alone at...
Read moreThis 5 stars in for an amazing server not for the actual restaurant at Dennys in davie florida. This server Tammy G. Has been our server for a little over 16 years. She is able to remember ur order without even writing anything down and has gotten it right everytime. She always keeps ur cups filled and always stops by to make sure your ok. A lot of times she has to help out other servers in addition but her customer service never shows it. She is amazing server !!

I have been coming to this Denny’s for many many years. These servers remember you and they become like family.
I am watching what I eat but this morning I was craving sweets and decided to make it a cheat morning (It’s early enough where I can work it off ) so I ordered one of there “Beetlejuice” specials : “Say it three times slams” 3 turkey bacon 🥓, 3 eggs and 3 silver dollar chocolate chip pancakes with chocolate chips and syrup and green sprinkles. I did have them put the vanilla cream on the side. I also got a coffee. My total is $13.35 before tip. I will get my 20% off monthly discount with the app. My server was amazing! She always has a great friendly and funny personality! She has been at this location for 11 years! Her and Tami I highly recommend if you come to...
