Hunny Bee's Chicken — Restaurant in Dayton

Let me start by saying that the staff, service and food is great. The manager on the other hand was a hot mess. I arrived there around 3:30ish on 12/21/21. Before I could collect myself and the young man was coming around the corner, she is out on the side window banging and yelling at them that I was standing there. I mean she went full on "KAREN 2.0" at these young people. When she came in the building she tried to apologize to me and I told her that her reaction was totally unnecessary and that she needed to apologize to her team. The visual alone was horrid. Her entire staff that I could see was young men and women of color, she treated them like field hands instead of her team. And for no reason at all. It is bad enough that these young people have to deal with crazy customers in the middle of this pandemic no less, but to be talked to and treated that way by their own Management is just utterly ridiculous! What made it even worse is that when I asked (as she cowardly ran to the back) was she always like this, even a customer chimed in. She needs to learn to treat her employees with respect just as if they were paying customers. To that staff, I saw excellent customer service in spite of her humiliating you all like that. It's been a minute since I've been to Hunnybees but it has always been a good experience whether I stopped in the drive thru or ordered for delivery, until today.

Today I noticed they changed the menu to show how many actual tenders you get instead of telling you the weight and I liked that.

What I did not like was not receiving the extra toast I paid for. I had bought the extra toast for someone who just wanted toast so after giving them the one toast I got, I was left with no toast. Disappointing.

The chicken was cooked fresh which I appreciated but the texture of all 3 tenders were different. One tender was perfect, another was very chewy and the last one was very grisly and weird. Because of that, I did not eat all of the chicken.

Lastly, they changed the fries. They used to have delicious crinkle cut fries that were always perfect and buttery. Now they serve waffle fries which were fresh and hot but they were not salted or seasoned and they were VERY hard.

The sweet tea was extremely sweet, for people who drink their calories.

I work here!!! I absolutely love our food, and my coworkers and managers. The chicken is so much better than canes, and the toast is my favorite! Super buttery and garlicy. Our fries aren’t anything special, but when they are crispy and fresh, they are a super delicious. We just got banana pudding, and although it’s generic, who doesn’t love banana pudding??? Our shakes have always been amazingggg, and now we have a banana one two, it’s my favorite. We use sweet baby Ray’s sauce, and you can’t get better than that. We make our own signature (hive) sauce everyday, I would know! We use unique spices, and put love and care into it. All of our employees try their best everyday, and they truly enjoy working. I think our customer service is one of the best, and the overall moral is good! We are always happy to help you, and resolve any issues you may have!
